thanks for the great discussion and input. I ended up moving on from the Aerius i after all. In fact, leaving the ML family:(
I found a pair of clean Quad 57 instead. Still staying with the ESL family. Currently the Quad is in battle with the wife. She's still getting used to having two...
I did a quick search and saw a few post regarding Aerius i upgrading to Ascent. And other post of Source upgrade to Summit, etc.
Just curious if anyone upgraded from Aerius i to the Source? Would that be consider an upgrade/downgrade/sidestep?
I never heard a system in setup like yours, but if you like tube, I suggest Opera Audio Consonance Droplet 5.0 CDP. I changed quite a bit of things around and finally settle on this one. It's running direct into my Mc275. You should be able to find one on gon for $1500-$1600.
I'm on the camp of leaving it open. At the same time, putting in the restriction of 1 month joining is a good idea.
I found this site after I bought my ML looking for more information. so I would say I'm 80% lurker and 20% poster. At the same time, it was because of this site that I went on...
I used a Kimber D60. Picked it up from gon under $200. Worked great. A lot more clarity from my old CD Player.
Might have it up for sale soon since I moved to a Tube CD Player and connecting XLR directly to the amp.
welcome!! You'll find a lot of great info here as well as a helpful bunch of folks!!
My aerius i got me started back on the audiophile scene as well as putting a hole through my wallet on upgrading all the other pieces of my systems :)
You'll love these speakers!!
maybe slightly off topic of the original poster. Just curious maybe someone here might know. My house is old and as far as I know it doesn't have the ground. All outlets are 2 prong. Does that mean I would potentially get a better sound with less interference? I know it's probably not safe...
Soundtracks are a good idea. Didn't even think of that.
I recently heard the Twelve girls band. They just had a concert in the Bay Area not too long ago.
In case anyone is interested here is the wiki for the band.

But the music was a little too...
I know this is a long shot, but I though I might ask anyways.
Not sure if anyone can actually recommend any classical Chinese music? Especially with classical Chinese instruments?
I picked up a couple from the local Chinese book store. But with CD title Tea drinking Chinese Music, it makes me...
I got some of my equipment from there. The best ones so far have been the ones I found on there and it turns out the guy is local too. So cash pickup is always a safe bet.
Looking at getting some spikes for my aerius i. I did some search and found some good alternative to the ones Martin Logan sells. Just curious if anyone used Black Diamond Racing cones on their Martin Logans?
I currently use Kimber Hero RCA and Kimber 8TC.
Anyone used Audio Art IC-3 before? From all the reviews, it looks interesting as well as another cost effective alternative.
