Dark and in the rain, the CLX's finally got here tonight....

And a pair of Purity's were on the truck too! Wasn't expecting that
for another month.

Of course we carted em right in and got them running immediately.
Due to the goons at Roadway, they've been on a truck since the 22nd
but they still sound pretty darn good right out of the box. A little stiff
but I'm sure that will be gone by the weekend, playing em about 18 hours a day!

Pics as soon as I clean the room up...

DROOOOOLLLLL

To think for $14500 and a short 5 hr drive I could have a pair.

how can you get a pair for $14500.00 ???

If you have the money, and can sneak em past whoever you live with, buy them, you won't regret it...

Here's a teaser:

Divorce isn't such a Bad Thing!
People have gotten Divorced for far less!

Are you sure you got the original pair that was sent out, Jeff? It's just that I can imagine ML panicking a bit with you posting their non-appearance on this site...

Anyway, clean that room up and post some pics:D!

I really would like to see some up close pics of the bass panels and trim and so on thanks tonepub.

Yeah Jeff, I know you'll get to it, and I know I'm stating the obvious BUT....

:ttiwwp:

And Tom is correct... YOU LUCKY BASTAGE!!!

In a couple of days I'll get some taken, got to clean up my messy studio first.

And, have to get these big cartons out of here!

Here's a messy one:

You can see I was up late listening to a lot of stuff and trying some tubes too!

Think I can see me a brace of 6C33Bs... is that a BAT of some description?

Ah - VK55SE from another thread... you sure that has enough clout, Jeff?

Well, it's no Premier 350, but doing a surprisingly good job. It plays quite loud and the slight bit of tubey warmth helps the CLX with no sub on. This amp worked great with the Summit and Spire too. It just depends on how far you need to twist the volume control....

Much more dynamic than my MC275 with these speakers. I know this will hack off the MC275 lovers. I love my MC275 with Harbeths...

The MC275 has a very warm and to me rolled off sound with the CLX, where the BAT is definitely more open and extended. Just depends on what sound you like and what the rest of your room/system is like!

Time to get that ARC Ref 110 here...

Glad they finally arrived, Jeff! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least a little envious... Enjoy! :music:

Thanks! I am. Jean pulled me out of here at about 1:30 this morning and I was back up and out listening at 7am...

that sure is a testament to how good they must be. for someone to have reviewed so much and heard so many to be so excited !
