With all these crazy natural disasters, mysterious animal deaths and the state of world affairs my crazy co-workers end of times mutterings seem more and more true.

Thanks guys for your concern. The Christchurch CBD is a mess, and many outlying suburbs have had much damage to roads, houses, and infrastructure. But, people are starting to get their lives back together again, and Christchurch will get rebuilt. The death toll has been around 180 people.

I guess the situation in Japan is much worse with 20000+ casualties.
