The paint on the sides of my Sequels seems to be getting a little sticky. I recently moved, and while I was unpacking them from their original boxes (I've kept them because I move a lot) I notices that I had some black gunk on my fingers, and then realised that the sides of my Sequels (where the foam in the boxes rubs against them) seemed to have marks on them.

I've never used anything more than a damp paper towel to dust them with, and then only if it's gotten really dusty. Usually I just vacuum them with the hose and brush head on my hand-vac...

Anyone know anything about this? Is the finish on the original Sequel know to have this problem. I've kept them in a non-smoking environment since I've owned them, but my last house DID have oil heating. Could that be the culprit?

Thanks in advance,

I did a quick search on nextel (which is the paint that ML used previously). There may be more info out there to find with a more thorough search. There has been a few members in your situation or worse that posted asking info on removing it.

You might want to check out these threads....

My search also came up with a link to one of the archives when we were using a different software (which wasn't as user friendly as what we have now) but did not find the actual thread.

Thank you. Those posts are VERY helpful. I suppose that my only real recourse then is to just clean and polish them real good, and maybe see if the local Magnolia will give me anything on trade-in toward some new MLs... :)
