modded oppo's and burn-in

As far as the Oppo players and RAM (Reference Audio Mods), although I haven’t heard them, my experience with RAM would indicate they do as the ads say. Doug Jesse from RAM East did modifications to my Esoteric DV50, and the unit is outstanding. It was a great unit prior to these upgrades and the improvement utterly astounded me. Wider and deeper soundstage, inner detail improved dramatically, and transient attacks became faster and more authoritive. All of the changes were designed by RAM and included some hand-made silver diode bridges among other things. I’m thinking about trying a modified Oppo myself.

The electronic burn-in issue is real and I believe anyone that has been in this hobby long enough has experienced this phenomenon. Even after equipment has relatively settled in, there is always a 20-30 minute initial warm-up that is noticeable on any high resolution system.
