Debuted at Cedia '08 the "Feature" center channel.

MartinLogan also debuted the Feature center-channel speaker, which does use an electrostatic panel for the midrange, along with a dome tweeter and dynamic woofers. The Feature is fully powered and will sell for around $1500 when it is available later in the year.

Sweet! I've been trying to get my hands on a Motif and have had a bit of trouble, maybe I'll end up with one of these instead. I was just going to power the Motif from my receiver anyway. The design looks identical to the Matinee to me (a little different than the Motif), so I guess it's to the Matinee what the Purity is to the Source.

Looking forward to learning more about it.

Joe,

It kinda looks similar to the Theater i. :)

Is it as big?

That's what I said when I first saw it, kind of looks like a new version of the Theater.

I don't think the Feature is very big, from what I gather this is the matching center channel to the self powered Purity. So don't be surprised to find RCA inputs on the back of this like on the Purity. ;)

It's not near as big as the theater. Sorry for the bad picture but it gives you an idea.

its ok

I do not like the dated cloth grills other than that its pretty nice.

Nice addition to the Purity. 2 or 3 pairs and a Feature, a nice pre/pro, and a JL sub  and you would have a killer setup.:music::rocker:

 Let's see, I have the first ML active center that truly keeps up with large mains, I think I'll keep it

Seriously, the 'Feature' is a nice addition to the line. This now makes it possible to recommend an active trio in the front for receiver users.

With some pretty nice receivers like the new Denon 1909, that have on-board Audyssey room correction and all the latest sound codecs, one can now have a reasonably priced and adequately powered ML setup for a small room.

Just what the product line needed at this point IMHO.

Sgnakster, I think we might be talking past each other a little. I don't know about other people, but personally I read "fully powered" as amplified with RCA inputs, unlike the Matinee, which needs an amplified speaker level signal.

my mistake, would this be considered a ESL or Design series?

Impossible to say for sure, especially given how little we know about it, but my guess is Design series.
