I have a simple Hook-up question? Please Help!

I am trying to hook-up my PS3 to my stereo system so I can get the sound to play thru my ML Vantages. I have a Krell 400xi amp hooked-up to a PS Audio DAC III.

I tried to hook-up the PS3 to the Krell amp via an optical cable, but I am not getting any sound from my speakers.

How do I get my PS3 to play blu-ray thru my speakers?

Hello,
You just need to go into the Audio Options part of the PS3 XMB (cross media bar) and enable the optical output to bitstream out to your krell. Set the options to stereo only and not DD or DTS.

Still can't get music from speakers???

I changed my PS3 to audio to Bitstream and I also changed the blu-ray disc to output stereo, but I an still not getting the music to play thru my vantages?

What am I doing wrong. my DAC lights up that the optical connection is powered!

If all your downstream gear is stereo only, then set the output to PCM (not bitstream).

What you want is 16/44.1 PCM from CD's, or 16/48 from DVD/BR.

Set the output resolutions in the PS3 to match those that your DAC supports (which might include higher rates than i listed above).
