Lossless (when possible and appropriate) "recordings of indeterminate origin" for torrent download. Think tapers and traders. No MP3's.

No commercially released recordings allowed. They occupy a "gray area".

Some real gems pop up from time to time. Recently listening to demo tapes of "Tommy".

Great for discovering "new" artists/genre. Plenty of live recordings, I've come to prefer that to the often sterile studio sound.

They limit the users to about 100,000. You'll probably have to wait a little while until someone times out to get your own login.

Probably my most interesting find was Hermeto Pascoal.

I use this site occasionally. In the same vane bt.etree.org and http://www.archive.org/browse.php?collection=etree&field=/metadata/creator both have free lossless audio of the same sort. Achive.org (Live Music Archive or LMA) is even easier yet since its a direct DL instead of bit torrent.
