We all love to bash Bose the company, but I'm not sure what to make of this news:

Bose donates most of his company to MIT

http://money.cnn.com/2011/04/29/technology/bose_mit_donation/index.htm

That's a generous move and great for that institution.

Let's just hope they don't give students Bose products and ruin their audio taste for life

The closing line in the article made me gag: "The company is known for its high-end speaker systems and headphones"

Yeah, right.

He's a very generous and obviously nice person - that's what you make of it.

I've never bashed Bose - I've always acknowledged they have a place in the market.

That said - I too, got a little smile from the closing line of the article! Let's hope Bose sound doesn't shape the future engineers that will be working for ML et al!

What a decent chap. I'm genuinely impressed by him. What a fantastic thing to be able to do in the twilight of life.

Respect.:rocker:

Call me a cynic, but if Bose does not pay out a dividend for any reason MIT gets nothing. Anyone have any idea what company history is like financially re dividends?
