I had a cheap receiver for my surround speaker. A temporary solution (You know them).
Then one day it stopped working. It was an opportunity to find something more appropriate. I found a deal on a Simaudio integrated. Another temporary solution.
Since I was finishing my basement ceiling, I decided to change my amp placement
(amplifiers and wiring are hidden there). In a hurry I connect the surround speaker, the amp on my power conditioner. Went upstairs. Listen...no sound. Hummm
Did I short the fuses? Check loudspeaker fuses. They were ok. I remembered that one electric receptacle on the power conditioner was defective. So I plug the amp on the wall. I decide to check the power fuse. ( Without unplugging the amp).
You guess what happened? I blew the amp. I was mad.
So, I started to look for something else.
I end up buying a Simaudio 4070se. Better and more powerful than my front amp.
It's now powering my front speaker and my Simaudio 3050 powering the surround.
That's what I call a happy ending.
