    Summit x vs Maggie 20.7 vs 3.7

Hey timm, I haven't posted here for a long time & I occasionally pop in to catch up on the threads. I have owned the Summit X with very good components as well as now own the 20.7's My take is the 20.7's hands down, not trying to start an arguement or create a lather here, just my preference...

    Quality of music

I am really disappointed with the ethics of the recording industry in the last twenty years. Yay is me to belong to a race of strippers to our own aural enjoyment.

    System #447 (CLX)

Welcome Dan, that is a great journey you've started on there. If you go the way of the Magtechs I can tell you from experience that the MOON P7 pre is a very good match with the amp.

    Spikes on Hardwood floor.

roberto no, spike plates have the same outcome but with a much better sound in my house! bob, yes, hockey pucks as in the pucks used for hockey.

    Spikes on Hardwood floor.

Yes you're both right in ways. I was talking about my own experience with a floating wooden floor in a two storey house. I found the pucks coupled with the floor & the bass became boomy downstairs to the point that my wife wasn't appreciative at all.

    Spikes on Hardwood floor.

Hey Bob, Gordon is spot on with the reference to the hockey pucks, they are nothing more than a cheap alternative until something better can be found.

Hello, I have been on a journey, a wonderful sounding journey & am enjoying my music very much. The upgrades since the above pic are as follows: MBPro/ssd, MSB Diamond DAC IV, MSB S200 amp & a QOL. The synergy between the MSB gear is phenomenal to the point of a lovely warm & very detailed...

    Australian Audio Show

Great! Bring on the 8 piece tv's. Ah well, you might get a good deal on a telly. I wish they'd get their respective shite together & design a proper telly for us audiophiles, sorry for hijack.

    Martin Logan drawbacks/negatives?

This is the info I would have given. Back in the day when I would burn an album of mixed songs I would use 192kbps & up, I never went below this, although in saying that I always tried to find 320kbps or better. Listening fatigue was always a factor at some time.

    Need a little help deciding...

Gordon has it right, power is a good thing. If you are wondering, ask what watts the amp will output at 8 ohm, 4 ohm & 2 ohm, a good quality amp will double as the ohm is halved or near to double. There are some exclusions but a general rule of thumb & all.....Be wary of the sales pitch about...

For fans of the Blues, especially Keb 'Mo...

I'll second 'Slow Down' as a very good album, but seriously with Keb Mo, you can't get it wrong & one is not enough. asindc, thanks for posting that :music:

    Hello from Wausau, WI

Huh! I've met a few that can talk a tad :D Welcome Tristan, you are in good company, I am just finishing a complete upgrade that has taken me 6 mths, the first was my very own first purchase of Martin Logan Summit X speakers. you might get a better response by starting a new thread, no-ones been here for a month on this one. p.s. I bought a MOON P7 RS, a very capable & quality pre that has no colour.:music:

Gordon, I too wondered why he was doing things half-assed.

    1st time ML user

Welcome John, persistance is the key usually followed by an expletive muttered under breath when you achieve "that" sound. What gear are you using, we are quite adept with secondary credit here..... :D
