ESL - endless need of panel replacements

I mean yes ofc if they are being used, but I assumed that plugged but not in use they wouldn't be charged or marginally. Well noted, will unplug them from now on.

ESL - endless need of panel replacements

There is a significant consumption of the speakers even though they are not in use but still connected to the power plug ???

ESL - endless need of panel replacements

Yeah they sound terrific, probably as good as new. When it comes to not letting this happen, I think I am screwed. The only thing I ll do, which i didnt so far, is to cover them all the time when I am not using them. Maybe air con when im gonna be playing them, but def air con 24/7 is nogo. I...

ESL - endless need of panel replacements

I am happy to report success on the washing. The sound awesomeness is back. EDIT : Side notes. The plastic they use to build the mount pieces holding the panels is absolute garbage. Brittle, they crack overtime very easily. Total BS. I hope they can provide new sets.

ESL - endless need of panel replacements

That sounds like non viable solutions sadly. Hopefully I will manage to bring back my panel to life with washing. I have disconnected the panels this morning, will wait the recommended 24hours then proceed with the washing tomorrow.

ESL - endless need of panel replacements

What was your procedure to wash them ? Did you use just water ? demineralized water ? Any chemical ? Brush? Really trying to avoid damaging even more. Damn I never thought id be talking, one day, of washing speakers lol EDIT: I just came a closer look to my faulty panel. I never checked so...

ESL - endless need of panel replacements

Thx but I am definitely NOT in this atricious city called Manila haha I am very far, in Mindanao, but still I live near a big city, on the outskirts. AirCon 24h is definetely absolute no go. I can't bring myself to conventional speakers, I have never heard any that could come to the ML in...

ESL - endless need of panel replacements

There is ZERO smoking of any kind in my house though. Pollution ? I live in the outskirts of the city, so I don't think we have a lot of that. Dust however... that is more present definitely. I will try to hoover the panel, but if it doesn't work, should I really try to wash them ? Heard of...

Martin Logan ElectroMotion ESL panel segments sounds dead.

Bumping this. I started reported those issues back in 2021. Currently it is now at a stage where one of the panel is totally done, well 95%

ESL - endless need of panel replacements

Interesting, Probably you don't remember his name, right ? Like I mentioned, running air con 24/7 could not be an option :(

ESL - endless need of panel replacements

Humidity, this is out of my control, as mentioned I am in the PH. I can't possibly run them under 24/7 Air con :( For the rest, they are not at all in direct sunlight. Curtains everywhere, I rely on artificial light only. Hardly super lit room. At the moment, my left side speakers has about...

ESL - endless need of panel replacements

Hello. I live in South East Asia, and own a pair of ESL. The speakers are now 8 years old. In that timeframe I have already changes the panels twice, going to a third time, as large chunks of each panel are not playing anymore. Is it expected to require such frequent replacements? The...

Martin Logan ElectroMotion ESL panel segments sounds dead.

I am experiencing the same issues. Again. Not the first time. I already had a panel change, last year. Now the issue starts to reappear one one panel. I am growing a bit tired of it. Aren't those panels supposed to be durable ?? Even if ML covers the warranty again, I also want to understand...

Experience feedback with AVR Marantz and ESL

Not nearly enough power to ohm ratio ? Can you please ellaborate ? Regarding the impedance, I read that when it comes to high end of the treebles, the impendance was falling down to 1 ohm making the amp suffer. I wonder if that would explain the power issue I am experiencing. I am definately...

Experience feedback with AVR Marantz and ESL

Indeed it gets hot to the point where I cannot put my hand on it. It's not in a cabinet though. Now I've a fan blowing on it, but still won't help much when it comes to protection cut off with loud volume.

Experience feedback with AVR Marantz and ESL

Hello. I would like to see if some of you have had experience of using home cinema AVR from the brand Marantz with ESL speakers, especiall the electromotion. My current set up is a pair of electromotion and dynamo 700 attched to a Marantz SR5009. I have noticed that I can't really play the...
