Well for the price of a long run of cheap cable that wont sound that good you could get a short run of cable that in comparison would sound great. Maybe its worth it to move it all closer even though it might not look the greatest, you should see my place as my wife hates it lol.

Sorry for my comment Vio, you have great speakers! The only HT pre to sound great is an Anthem D2v or a Krell 1200 for music. Get some tube gear in that rig and you will worship those speakers!

Get a $150 used grant fidelity 2 channel tube buffer for fun casual music like streaming spotify etc. If you drop some good tubes in it will sound even better, panels love tubes!

I have the slmxl and they are way better than fresco's. The xl really do need some serious watts to start coming alive. It was not until they got a 225 watt jolt from a Theta that I started to think they sounded good. These are not what you wana do any music listening on, even casual!
