    Problems with Sequel II

I had the speaker exported from the States to the Netherlands when I returned from a expat job. Apparently the USA high voltage circuit board don't work in the Netherlands due to the 60Hz versus 50Hz setup. I got the circuit boards swapped to European boards and all is fine now. PS I have...

    Problems with Sequel II

At the end the problem seems to be caused by the power frequency in Europe (50Hz) versus the US (60Hz). Appearantly these speakers can't deal with the difference in mains frequency. The help of the ML service department was great, they were able to diagnose the problem and direct me to a...

    Problems with Sequel II

Hi Rich, I don't think it is the panel (this time). Since the high notes are back temporarily when I replace unplug and then reconnect the main power. The panel are clear for appr. 60 seconds and then fade to away. I think it is the electronics (high voltage circuit being switched off by the...

    Problems with Sequel II

HELP is there no one who can help with trouble shooting tips, part replacements or a circuit diagram??? I've already tried to swap the LM324AM for a new one but that didn't solve my problem. I noticed some sort of test switch on the circuit box but pressing it doesn't cause an improvement (or...

    Problems with Sequel II

My Sequel II's have lost their high tones!!! When I unplug the mains and then plug it back in, high is back but only briefly... The internal red led only comes on shortly and then switches back off... It think my circuit to detect if the speakers should be switched on (and input signal is...

    Auto shut-off / switch-on broken (Aerius)

Hi Roberto, Unfortunately this isn't the problem. I left the speakers cables out all night but the speaker was still switched on. I dive into it with my multimeter later today to figure out what is going on... regards, Rob.

    Auto shut-off / switch-on broken (Aerius)

One of my Aerius speakers is not switch-off anymore. Is this a common problem and if so is there a common fix? Are any schematics (circuit diagrams) available so I can dig into it myself? regards, Rob

Sounds like one of the panels is End Of Life...

just getting the new room set-up

Don't you have a problem with the Cinema rumbling a little in its compartment (excessive bass)? I experience that with my setup as well (also build into a compartment of the cupboard underneath the TV set). I needed to put some absorption material behind it and tamper the bass (-2 dB) a little...

    Center Channels

In surround mode (or DTS) the sweet spot is nearly gone since all the speakers work together to create a full quadrafonic (but using 6 channels) stage. Don't worry about it as long as everyone is sitting within the circle of the 4 corner speakers and the center is near the TV/projection screen...

    Center Channels

    I hate speaker cables

Theoretically you are right and it would be nice if even more conversions could be eliminated from the process!!! regards, Rob

Is class D here an alternative??? (I haven't had a chance yet to play with a class D setup)

    I hate speaker cables

Probably a subject beaten to death but here is my contribution. The best speaker cable is no cable at all since every meter/foot of cable is causing loses. The best cable is as short as possible! Best would be to have a mono-block (incl. DAC) build into the speaker and hook it up via fiber...

    Ascent versus Aerius

E.g. use a Solid State amp to drive the woofer and a tube amp to drive the panel (stator). regards, Rob.

Does one need all 5 channels to enjoy TV and movies?

For watching DVD's/Blu-Ray's/SACD (music or movies) using Dolby Surround 5.1 or even better DTS 5.1 or DTS HD I would definitely recommend a surround (5.1) setup-up above 2 channels. The difference is huge!!! For normal TV it doesn't add to much (Dolby Surround)... A consideration could be...

    Life span panels

Ok, I did the wash trick last sunday on the bad panel (and vacuumed/cleaned the rest of speaker while I got it apart). Unfortunately it didn't help a bit. Next step is arranging a multimeter able to handle 10kV and measure if the high voltage circuit is still working... regards, Rob.
