    Bookshelves behind speakers for absorption/diffusion?

Even without a remeasure, live with the absorption for a while - maybe 2-4 weeks. Then pull it out of the room again and listen again. Let us know your impressions. Bryan

    Bookshelves behind speakers for absorption/diffusion?

Ah! A lot of what I see in those shelves are not books though. Looks like a lot of HARD CD cases which will allow a little bit of skewing of the reflections - much moreso than a book. I did see one person who spent the time to actually build the back of his CD racks to the exact specs of a...

    Big Band music

Check out Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band. It's newer, not old school, but great big band stuff recorded very well. One of my favorite demo cuts is "Sing, Sang, Sung" Bryan

    Bookshelves behind speakers for absorption/diffusion?

Unfortunately, bookshelves with books in them will still be more absorptive than diffusive. Books themselves are absorptive - which is in direct conflict with diffusion. If you want diffusion behind, then real diffusers are the way to go - sorry. Bryan

    Erik's thread on 2008 RMAF!

The live musician mentioned earlier was Jon Pousette Dart. Jon is a great guy. We did his studio in upstate NY last year. He was playing to help promote a wonderful charity that we're involved with - Direct Grace Records. They're doing old school direct to disc recordings. Proceeds go...

The Right Amp For My Logans

IMO, there is no comparison between the Sunfire and the Mac. I've had 2 Sunfires and have a lot of experience (though not owned) the Macs. The Mac is a much more refined sounding amplifier, stronger bottom end, smoother highs, better imaging, etc. Another one you might want to consider is...

    Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2008

Show environments can be terribly unpredictable. Generally you can get an idea of things to help narrow the field. On the other hand, I've heard things that sounded pretty bad under show conditions that I personally knew via audition in my system or a system owned by someone I knew and was...

    Bryan from GIK

Not sure if this is proper forum etiquette or not to discuss our products but here goes. The Real Traps are a fine product. We just go for a different audience in most cases and we try to offer both a budget line and an upscale line for differing room requirements. Our pillar and tri-traps...

    Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2008

Just FYI, Jason Jones of Jones Audio is the person who designed our diffusion products. If you need to get hold of him for any information on the Jones Audio products, let me know and I can put you in touch with him. Bryan

Thanks for the warm welcome. Good to meet some of you at RMAF. Yes - the Pillars are 16x16x48" and open on all 4 sides. I don't know if Mike will honor the show special on the Sapphire XL's now or not. You might want to contact him and let you know you were at the show. Ya just never...

    Rear Wave

We've had quite a few people use a variety of our (and others') products with various dioples. There seems to be 2 different preferences: - Corner absorption in the front corners, diffusion behind the panels scattering sideways, absorption between the speakers on the front wall - Corner...

    Bryan from GIK

Hi Guys Sorry it took me so long to get registered here. I tried a couple times before and had problems getting the confirmation link but all is good now. I'll try to be more regular and answer any questions you have to get the best out of the Logans. Bryan

    Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2008

Thanks for all the kind words about our room with ACI. The little Sapphire XL's are certainly something special and the synergy with the Korato Anniversary amp was truly something special. I'll apologize for making this my first post. I tried to register some time ago and had an issue and...
