I want to take my system to the next level ,help me please !!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you add subs, make sure you add a pair. Although deep bass is not directional, your right and left channels will still produce different bass. Put the subs in the corner and spend the rest of your time tweaking. You may also want to consider passive bass filters, depending upon your sub...

    Aerius i vs Aeon i

Anyone have any thoughts on a comparison between Aerius i vs Aeon i? Thinking about possibly upgrading. Or is it even an upgrade?! ;) Associated gear: Linn Wakonda preamp Aragon 4004 MkII amp

    Receiver power enough? ML Vantage/Vista/Source

Don't kid yourself, MLs take a ton of real estate. AND they're hard to set up. If you like to tinker, welcome to speaker Nerdvana! The good thing about MLs is that they LOOK like art. I'm not aware of any speaker that look as cool as MLs. Maggies? Come on, they look like ceiling tiles...

Six months with the Aragon 4004 Mk II

Wow. One of first things I noticed was less strain. Wait, I could have been imagining that. . .so, let's forward 6months. . . I've been very happy with my Aragon. It's rated at 400w into a 4ohm load. The Aerius i's are spec'ed at 3.8ohms, I believe. Even if the dynamic woofer pulls more, I...

Comparing amplifier load between Aeon i and Prodigy

Agree with everyone. At 185w into 8ohms, that should roughly translate into approximately 350w into 4ohm. Since the Prodigies and Aeon run at 4 ohm load (I suspect just a tad lower than that), you should be fine. Check to see how stable your CJ is going to be at a lower load, say 1ohm or half an...

    McCain and Obama

**SIGH** They're all lying thieves! The Democrats tax and spend; the Republicans borrow and spend. Either way, they want a piece of me. And for what? So they can promise freebies to others. Wouldn't it be great if we could overthrow the government and start over a la 1776? Oh wait, we can't do...

    Stat technology?

Well, not all of it is the living room. It's shared by the dining area as well. So, one speaker is about 10' from the side wall, while the other is about 4'. Still hard to complain. ;) I've been reading a lot about people changing out their panels. How does one know if they need to be...

    Stat technology?

Jonathan, that was exactly what I was looking for! THANK YOU! I have old Aerius i that I picked up back in '98. Never changed out the stats - I don't think I need to. . .:o. I agree room placement and treatment is so much more than equipment swapping. Unfortunately, I'm limited by what the...

    Stat technology?

Can anyone point me to a comparison of the stator generations/technology? I'm curious how much better they sound, what's different about them, et al. Thanks!

Aragon 4004 Mk II amp just arrived!

Yes, I know, it's been forever since I posted. Been busy making a buck, planning this, working at that, etc. Somewhere along the way, I found an Aragon 4004 MkII on eBay. This was the amp I lusted after in law school. So, I figured why not scratch that itch. There was someone selling two of...

Ideal room size for Summit home theater setup?

See if you can bridge your EAD to 3ch. Your signal loss from high voltage speaker cables is going to be more significant over long lengths (to get to the rears) than with lower voltage interconnects. That and long interconnects are MUCH cheaper than long speaker cables! With long interconnects...

    How important is wire/interconnects?

Hey, the cost of spiffiness! My brother drives an E55 and pays more for maintenance than I do on my Lotus! So naturally, I have to chide him, "You pay for spiffiness, and all you get is a Merc!" Ok, back to wires. I fall into the wires make a difference up to a point (how's THAT for...

    Questions for Bi-wire or Bi-Amp

I agree with both of the comments above. Bi-wiring isn't nearly as significant as bi-amping. But if you have a good amp, that would be best. IMO, the best time to bi-amp is when you want a separate amp to power your LF. Because those woofers move a lot of air and quickly, they take up a lot...

Are there better ML speakers than the Sequel?

The first is our Lotus before we took delivery of her in Iowa. Yes, Iowa! The previous owner had 4 other Lotus 4 Austin Minis, a BMW Mini, and 2 SUVs. He was picking up an Elise and needed the space! The second is a pic of the missus at the sculpture garden in Houston. :D

    I saw blu-ray today

Pcar, nice ride! Get an outboard scaler for your DVD player. The scaler will make your DVDs sing! And IMO, gets you about 80% visually to where HD dvds are. Best part, you don't have to part company with your current DVDs. I seriously doubt if we're going to take the plunge into HD dvds for...

Finally - I can say I am a Martin Logan Owner!

Captain & Mango. Welcome to the electrostatic-herion den! Bwahahaha! LOL! You'll love your MLs! We've had our Aerius i's for 7 years, and we love them! Amazing that your wife agreed since planar speakers take up so much real estate. Keep your MLs properly powered. Otherwise, like us, you'll get...

Clarity vs. Scenario vs. Aerius i

We got out Aerius i's used as well in 1999 for $1400, OMB. The rail was cracked, but frankly, I didn't care. I wanted a set of MLs! Dammit! :rocker: After 7 years, they're still awesome. When I started dating my now wife, she commented the speakers were so clear, she had to listen in the wake...
