I want to add an additional sub to compliment my current Martin Logan Ascent i, Theater i, and Fresco setup. In an earlier post i asked about DIY drivers. In this post I would like your opinion what 12" powered sub you would recommend to compliment my system?
I would also like your opinion on...
Would you mind walking me through how to do this or directing me to a website that contains this info? Sorry! Just don't want to mess anything up.
Currently I have one amp driving the the panels and a second driving the subs.
Thanks!
Hey Tosh,
I have a separate amp on the 10" ML subs and need more low end based on my room size. The 10's are exceptionally well matched and fast. I don't want to muddy the sound up by adding slower subs. Any thoughts on drivers that match well with the Ascent i's?
Or if there is a powered sub...
Kruppy and JonFo thanks for the response and both give me a good place to start/consider and within budget :-).
I'm leaning toward building two cabinets myself with a single 12" front facing driver in each. What 12" drivers would you recommend that are clean, perform well in both the theater...
Good afternoon!
I have a couple of questions. I am a proud owner of a pair of Martin Logan Ascent i speakers and would like to add a 12" sub (2 preferred as my home theater is over my 3 car garage). I'm on a budget so i am trying to keep it around $800. . Here are my questions::
1. Are there...
I'm considering a 2-channel amp to run my Ascent i panels only. Would you mind sharing your recommendations along with the minimum number of watts I should look for in an amp for the panels to really make them sing? Since I don't have a money tree yet in my yard :(, please provide me with cost...
This thread peaked my interest as I experienced the same problem and corrected it by swapping the +/- on my left Ascent i channel back in January 08. Since then, I added absorption material after reading the thread on acoustic panels. Last night I swapped the +/- back on the left channel to...
I own a 4308ci and ran into the same problem where my left channel reported out of phase. I switched +/- and found a tremendous improvement in overall balance. Before correcting, my left channel seemed drawn back and I would correct by turning up the left channel. After, no problems at all.
Also make sure you have connected the Oddesseys in phase to your amplifier/receiver. I made this mistake in the past and what you describe is exactly what I expereinced. Once I corrected the phase issue, the problem went away and my Ascent i's have not sounded better. Best of luck!
Let me give you more informaiton to make sure I understand :-)
No matter if I run the Ascent i's full range or bi-amp, the internal crossover of the Ascent i's will cross the 10" drivers at 280Hz and down? Is this correct?
Thank you!
Randall
Hi ML Owners,
What's the preferred crossover frequency for the Martin Logan Ascent i 10" subs? From what I read in the owner's manual, the panels are at a 280Hz crossover point. The reason for the question is I don't want to my sub crossover point so low that I miss critical low frequency...
