Hi from Ross who knows Logos?

Hi Rossman1, Do you still have disassembly and/or cleaning instructions for the ML Logos? Any chance you could post them or email me? My Logos is still working but has lost efficiency... would really like to do a deep clean or recoat the mylar. Cheers, Mark

    Panel rebuild guide?

Would be nice to assume 29 year old foam tape will release freely from the stator. If that happens, I owe you a beer and should probably buy a lottery ticket. It seems I have 1/2" x 0.004" VHB adhesive on wax film here. That's the same material used to attach detailing chrome to bumpers. Ask...

    Panel rebuild guide?

Found another thread on the ML forum describing disassembly and repair of Sequel II panels with pix posted by Member Leethomas in 2008. https://www.martinloganowners.com/threads/renovating-my-sequel-2-panels-part-1.7424/ Sounds like the only hard part is getting the front stators separated...

    Panel rebuild guide?

Do you have a source for adhesive copper tape? Pretty sure I'll roll the dice and move forward. In the worst case, I tear the film and end up with new replacement panels. 🥹. Ya, Bob has made some pretty amazing products over the years. The M-500t + C1 preamp was my first big purchase after...

    Panel rebuild guide?

Yep. Sequel II panels (from 1995) have a continuous charge coating. SL3 panels (from 1999) have coating islands. Am assuming the charge rings extend along the entire perimeter of the panel making electrical connection with the islands but that won't be apparent until stators are separated...

    Panel rebuild guide?

Hey Jazzman, Just found your webpage. Should have looked there first, lots of good information within. Will need to disassemble the Sequel II panels to understand if the copper foil covers the perimeter of the mylar. Its only visible at the single contact point so my one dimensional brain...

    Panel rebuild guide?

Hi Jazzman, Thanks for all the guidance and narrative for ESL panel repair. Will remove my panels and inspect whether the front stator is attached to the mylar with 2 sided tape at the spars or if the front stator is only secured at the top and bottom. Think its the latter. One more...

    Panel rebuild guide?

Current Sequel II panels are in use but 29 years old such that efficiency is lower then woofers. Have ordered a Crown 1002 amp to allow biamping and powering woofers separately to help balance bass with panels. If this fails, will need to either purchase new panels or service / improve sound...

    Panel rebuild guide?

Hi Jazzman, Thanks for the quick and articulate reply. You mentioning the need for "build(ing) a jig to support the rear stator in contoured condition, when tensioning the diaphragm film". Suppose that's the part I was hoping to avoid. Are you suggesting disassembly of 29 year old panels...

    Panel rebuild guide?

Hi Mirolab, Did you ever find a home for your tired SL3 panels? I'm considering starting a science project to try and rebuild my tired Sequel II panels. Are the SL3 panels just tired or is the mylar film damaged?

    Panel rebuild guide?

Jazzman, you seem pretty knowledgeable about ESL panels and rebuilding them. Do you understand root cause of sound degradation in older panels? Is it due to accumulation of dirt / dust on the old mylar or from the conductive coating burning off over time? My question is really how complex it...

    Another Amp / Impedance / Bi-amp question

Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions. A Sunfire Symphonic Reference 2x250 amp was purchased to drive the new-to-me SL3s and the combo sounds amazing. Incredible soundstage and detail. Its now clear why ML owners migrate towards Sunfire and/or other low impedance amps. This system will...

    Martin Logan Shower Cleaning PDF

Wow, you rebuilt a Theater panel? I've got an older Logos which never really got much use as it's not a tonal balance for my Sequel IIs. Wondered how much work it would be to clean the panels but can't find any disassembly instructions. Over time, my system has gone from Stereo with time...

    Martin Logan Shower Cleaning PDF

Hi Mirolab, Can you clarify whether washing with a garden hose and drying with compressed air removed all black residue visible in the panel perforations? What's bothering me is I washed my panels with warm water in the shower and that was not sufficient to remove all residue as measured...

    Martin Logan Shower Cleaning PDF

Based on the presence of HCl, Sodium Bicarbonate and other ionics listed on the Simple Green SDS, rest assured it will fail any conductivity test you may wish to perform. I've rethought my use of Simple Green and won't be using it to wash the panels although it might be just fine if thoroughly...
