Pro-Ject Debut is ok to start with and maybe Rega P2 would be one choice. With a bit of luck you can find Rega P3 or Pro-Ject Xpression near that range. First model of Xpression is actually pretty good deck, but they changed the arm to later models.

When I made my first own TT I compared different types of mats. Rubber mats of different thickness, cork and some other, but the best then was 3mm thick acrylic mat on MDF platter. With Lenco L75 I preferred very thick rubber and currently I have Michell platter (on my own TT) so no mat needed. :)

I´ve been thinking that I´d sell my current system and get something different. Now I´m moving to new house in two weeks so I thought this would be perfect time to do it. My TT and probably my Unico CD are only components that I´m saving. So let´s see if ML´s will fill the place that Apogees...
