    If Not Logans...

Yeah, different gear can play tricks. You never know what you actually hear in the demo room and what you will hear in your own room with your own equipment.

    If Not Logans...

Errrm... So what about Logan vs. Usher Be-20? Soundwise? ;-P

    If Not Logans...

Interesting that you mentioned this "reference" (Avalon - Spectral - dCS - MIT - DAAD) set up with an exorbitant price ;-) While it indeed sounds "very drool-worthy" the Avalons do not have the sound of good planars (it's neither good nor bad - just different), and I doubt you can get a good...

    If Not Logans...

I thought there was only one input, so you will definitely need a preamp. Advantages are (mostly Genelec and Dynaudio, since they are professional studio monitors, while the Meridian's are piano-lacquered-hi-end-beauties, the price for both types varies from $7000 to $50000, depending on the...

    If Not Logans...

May I suggest something completely different? What do you think about a network DAC (a modded Logitech Transporter, PS Audio PerfectWave + Bridge) feeding active speakers? This system will not take much space in your bedroom. Also, some active speakers do not require much space behind them or...

    Power cables for Summits

Gordon, thanks for the suggestion, but it will not work for me, because I live in EU. Also, Venom in Europe costs 210 euros (280$). BTW, did you compare Venom with any other cables (except the stock ones)?

    Power cables for Summits

What are your experience with different power cables for Summits? I searched the forum, but mostly people mention what cables they use (for example, this thread: http://www.martinloganowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3429), but did anybody actually compare several models? I'm trying to decide...

Modded by Aberdeen Transporter and sibilance

Should have updated the thread long time ago... The problem was solved by upgrading the audio rack to Finite Elemente Master Reference and adding Finite Elemente Cera-feet under everything ;-)

Modded by Aberdeen Transporter and sibilance

No. Yeah, working on it. Haven't found anybody yet. o- Use balanced (helped just a little bit) o- Upsample (help a very-very wee-wee little ;-) o- Use Wi-Fi instead of Ethernet (not my case) o- Ask in the forums (erm...) I'm composing another mail with test result. The thing is I'm still not...

    Recommendation

Just a suggestion. You can get Sequel II (predecessor of SK3) and (since they are quite old) order new panels. Though the enclosure and filters are diff from, the panels will be the same as in Ascents. I had both Sequel II and Ascent. While Ascent does sound better they are within the same...

Modded by Aberdeen Transporter and sibilance

Modded by Aberdeen Transporter and sibilance (solved) I'm trying to figure out what is wrong in my system. I wonder if anybody is using SlimDevices Transporter in a similar setup: Source: Transporter (modded by Mauimods/Aberdeen) and Meridian 596 (power cable Synergistic research Master...

    vantage 220v power boards????

Does anybody know if the replacement boards (or panels) be purchased directly from the factory without going to a dealer?

    Hybird amplifiers...

Speaking of hybrids... Here's another (Italian) company which is quite popular in Europe: http://www.unisonresearch.com. My dealer tested UR Sinfonia with Vantages and was very pleased with the result.

    SL3 with External Power Supplies

Probably, the previous owner bought the speakers in the US, and replaced the PS'es to match the local voltage. Good idea BTW... I was also thinking about that, but my "solution" was external 230 -> 110 adapter. Since passive ML's practically do not consume current, even cheap transformers...
