    Recoating panels

Hmmmm, I don't think removing the front grille (stator) is going to be that simple - there appear to be horizontal spars that are in effect strips of double sided sticky tape, I cannot see that it is possible to separate the front grille without ripping the mylar due to these spars.

    Pigeon crap

I wasn't there but I guess the pigeon sat on the top edge then let loose, the white stuff dribbled down, some of it was on the front of the grille whereas some of it went through the holes behind the grille and onto the mylar film. In theory it should be possible to wash it out but it won't be...

    Recoating panels

Apologies for posting on this topic, I'm sure it has been done to death but the way I like to work is to ask specific questions rather than trawl through articles that may or may not answer my questions. Obviously links to with relevant information are most appreciated. Due to my Aerius I...

    Pigeon crap

Damn, I thought that may be the case, probably is high resistance but with the high voltage involved, is likely to conduct so current. Looks like I need take the front stators off, last time I washed them the foam strips were starting to come apart so it may be quite easy to do. I may look...

    Pigeon crap

Will having a solid bridging the gap between the grille and film cause an issue?

    Pigeon crap

Whilst I was away, a pigeon fell down the chimney and used my aerius speakers as a roost, resulting in white crap down the metal grilles. I've managed to clean nearly most of it off with a dam sponge soaked in disinfectant and an ear bud for removing crap out of the holes. I do not know if...

    floor spikes

I had figured that is what the holes were for, mine have slipped over the short time (circa 2 years ?) I've had them. Yesterday I took of the panel side holders and repositioned them; I poked in blocks of firm foam between the metal grille for the bass unit and the grille and wooden panels...

    New CLS Frames

That's very impressive, look much better than the original. I'm sure it's been asked and I may have missed the reply but where do the lower metal panels come from.

position - directionability (is that even a word?)

Yeah., you guys are spot on. I'm finding the best position for getting the best hf is when my ears are in line at right angles to centre of the panels. For the time being I've put the rear spikes on a piece of wood so the panels are more or less vertical but will tweak this. The narrowness...

position - directionability (is that even a word?)

Probably been discussed to death but I notice that if my head is a about 1 foot higher than it is when I am sitting down on the sofa (my usual listening position), I hear more treble. Not quite sure why that is but guessing it may be that panels (Aerius ii) are beginning to die. Would raising...

difference between aerius i and aerius ii

As per title, how do they differ? Are panels interchangeable? Looks to me they are same dimensions but have different binding and possibly different electronics.

    Aerius i - Panel Age

I read that after 10 years the panels can be heard to deteriorate, these ones are almost 2x that so its just wear . But swapping panels narrows down problem to panel or electronics.

Martin Logan Aeon "Custom 5 way Binding Posts" - can someone please explain?

Why are they called 5 way???? Anyway, re banana plugs. There is a replacement for the old style 4 mm banana that is not compatible, i dont offhand know its name. Reason i was tokd for the change was that the round pins on european ugs were same diameter and was to stop people plugging their...

    Aerius grill removal

Mine are aerius ii, there in an aerius i ( or is it just plain aerius?) and sidetrims are remived by tapping downwards. This seems to contrary to other ml models so the above advice is good. It doesnt take a lot of force, i reckon it could be done by hsnd although i never tries that. Read...
