Very nice system indeed. And nice view as well. I remember such view while living in Toronto...
Can you comment on the cerapuc under your Summit? I would like to know how much effect they have on the sound.

Thanks.

Wayne (theWB) has one... it's a nice logo sign. What are those two glass things flanking the sign? Are those part of it or just a way to get it to stand up?
OK, I can live with there being only myself and one other person in the world with a ML logo sign :)
The glass things flanking the sign are vases turned upside down. A little Blu Tack keeps it standing up on the table.
By the way, the strange looking device on the floor beside the table is Puffy, my  robotic vacuum. Every ML owner should have a robot to keep dust away from the 'stats.

Hi:
The Cerapucs are under the amp and CD player. I use BDR jumbo pits (http://www.musicdirect.com/product/71822) under the Summits. I find the BDRs much better than the wooden chopping blocks I previously used. Viking uses Cerapucs under the Summits (http://www.martinloganowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1435&page=2&highlight=norway&p=12162), but I've never tried it.

Thanks for the compliments on my system and view. I love looking at the always changing scenery through the large picture window behind the speakers. At first I thought I should keep the blinds lowered to absorb the sound waves coming from the back of the dipolar speakers, but I find music sounds more realistic with the blinds up and the sound waves reflecting off of the glass. I've placed the large-screen LCD TV as far forward as I can so it is even with the front grill on the Summits. Someone suggested a blanket be placed over the screen when listening to music, but again I found there was no need to deaden the reflections. Of course the best setup would be to keep the space between the speakers clear, but my decor makes this difficult.

Please give me a shout if you ever come back for a visit to Toronto.
Bill.

I've made some adjustments and accessory purchases over the last year, so I thought it would be nice to summarize them in one spot ...

Comments
As said many times on this forum, the biggest improvements are obtained by adjusting speaker position and addressing room acoustics. The Copland Digital Room Correction device brought the acoustics to a higher level than what I could obtain from the Echobusters alone. I tried the Foundation Research LC-10 power filters soon after purchasing the PS Audio Power Plant Premier. They were so good that I returned the Power Plant Premier within the 30-day return policy. The HiFi Tuning Fuses are amazing. They are an inexpensive accessory that I highly recommend. The BDR Jumbo Pits under the speakers are better than the chopping block I was previously using. The Acoustic Revive RR-77 is my latest purchase. I don’t understand how it works, but I thought I would give it a try under the 30-day return policy. It works as advertised.

I’ve been tweaking my system with great success. The most significant improvement came when I changed my speaker cables from the Cardas Golden Reference to the Atlas Ichor (http://uhfmag.com/Cables.html). I’m not using the bi-wire capability of the cable since one of the cables is of highter quality than the other. The improvement in the midrange is amazing. Everything is clearer and has much more impact.

The following tweaks resulted in more subtle improvements:

Speaker Placement
Using the XLO Test & Burn CD (http://store.acousticsounds.com/browse_detail.cfm?Title_ID=7444) I increased the speaker toe-in. The Logan manual is right on the money when it states “Generally it is found that the ideal listening position is with the speakers slightly toed-in so that you are listening to the inner third of the curved transducer section.”

Power Cords
I replaced the power cords with the PS Audio Plus AC Cord (http://www.musicdirect.com/products/detail.asp?sku=APSACPLUS2.0M).

Speaker Jumbers
[2006-08-15] Speaker jumpers are now made of the same cable as the speaker cable (Atlas).

Floor Protectors
Audio Points Floor Discs (http://www.musicdirect.com/products/detail.asp?sku=AAPAPCD-2)

After 3 months of tweaking I've reached audio heaven. I can sit back and enjoy the music. :)

The following picture shows the speaker cable, power cord, jumpers, and floor protectors...

Was noticing that you hooked your speakers cables up differently. One to the lower woofer input and one to the upper esl input. I've not seen that before. Would you explain that? BTW, nice system!

Nice set up Stereoman. I have the RR77 as well, combined with thr RD3 demagnitizer and the Audiodesk lathe. When you combine all three of these items,it takes the digital out of digital and is simply amazing.

I use Foundation Research also, LC1's to going to my Odyssey's, vast improvement!I agree with you on the aftermarket fuses. I use Isoclean fuses in everything including the LC 1's.
Cheers, Greg

Hi Bill,

Good to see another member has an ML system with windows.

As you can see from my pictures, I've treated the lower portions of the glass with acoustic panels and plants but can still look out over the top two thirds to see the sky.

I know what you mean about those clouds floating by the window.

I also enjoy the various flying creatures that float by including mallards, bald eagles, red tail hawks, Canadian geese, etc.

Your system / view looks great and I'm confident, sounds equally as good.

Gordon

Hi:
Thanks for your comments. Someone suggested that this was an "ancient Chinese secret" that improved the sound, but after trying it for a few weeks I decided the speakers sounded better without crossing over the wires so they're back to normal.
Bill.

Thanks for getting back to me on that Bill.

Update: I've moved the speakers away from the windows to the side wall. Improvements resulted in the low frequencies and imaging. I love cost-free upgrades! I'm thinking of mounting the TV on the wall and moving the EAR V20 integrated amp to the top shelf in order to showcase its beauty.

I'm lucky to have a friend who is learning to paint. I wonder how much he'll charge me for the painting, especially if he finds out how much I spent on my stereo  ...

I guess you're have to get your friend to paint another painting. :D

Speaker plinth and footers for the Summit

I've replaced the BDR pucks with a speaker plinth and brass footers. Mapleshade produces them. It was a leap of faith to make such a major change and investment, but I'm very happy with the results. The speakers have completely disappeared; the sound just fills up the room. The clarity is scary, I'm hearing music that I never knew was on my CD's. What an improvement over the butcher blocks and BDR pucks that I've used in the past.
