I have a pair of ML CLSzII and my DMA-90 sounds nice and dandy, but I am wondering if I would be better off with the DMA-180 S2?

it seems that the DMA-90 is JUST strong enough to drive the CLS’s but I am missing a bit of power at times.

Thoughts? (I would like to stay within the SpectralAudio lineup)

I would think you'd need a DMA-300 at least, as that old CLS is not very efficient.

Even a used stereo model goes for $12K Spectral DMA-300 RS stereo power amp - by Spectral Dealer | Solid state | Waltham, Massachusetts 02451
It does not double-down per halving of impedance, so not an ideal match for an ESL.

So I suggest you'd be much better served by a Sanders Sound Systems Magtech ESL amp at ~$7K (new). This one will double down on power all the way to 2 Ohms. Designed and made for ESL duties. Love mine, which handles panels larger than the CLS.
