One of the growing number of audiophile podcasts (The Occasional) has an interview with Gayle Sanders, discussing his history with ML, and recent foray back into high-end audio with Eikon Audio, his new speaker company... https://parttimeaudiophile.com/2018/09/25/gale-sanders-eikon-martinlogan/

His reminiscing about the early days of ML are pretty interesting. I never knew the company almost folded due to failing stat panels when the CLS was first released! I also didn't know that Ron Logan Sutherland was only with the company a relatively short time, before venturing on his own as Sutherland Engineering.

Sounds like this interview took place around the time he debuted his Eikon speakers at Axpona, but I haven't heard/read much about them lately. He's listed as an exhibitor at the upcoming RMAF, so hopefully we'll get some updates at that time.

Thanks Alan, and here is yet another, a video interview with Gayle by Darko: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iEelxW0T-s

Gayle must be reading this forum and paying attention to my rants about active speakers, as he's all in on that now. His explanations as to why it's a good thing are all spot-on.

One of the big benefits of later day semi-active ML's is that it's just a minor step away from going full active. Has anyone hacked on one of those to go full active?

If not, I'll do one of those models just for grins. Maybe an early Summit, but probably depends more on whats on the market at the time. But first need to find some spare time, which is scarce these days.
