This software is very similar to vBulletin, it is XenForo v2.

1. To make a post, click on the title of the forum, and click on it to get the index of threads. You should see a blank line for a title of a thread. You can click on it and it will also open the box for the body of the message (post).

Or you can look to the right and see Post New Thread button:

2. When filled in there is the Post Thread button.

Next adding images, files to the post.
1. Look to the bottom left on the post your making and you will see:
1590814690830.png

That will take you to your storage area of images, you choose, upload. You will get a thumbnail, or Full image option. I suggest the Full image are nicer for the others to see. Below is how some of the images in this thread shows while I'm making the thread.

2. The best feature of this software, copy an image from somewhere else and paste.
This is an image copied from an ebay ad, just a right click copy image, and here I will right click paste it.

3. You can also use the link to an image by using the

This is done with the landscape icon.
With that you can choose upload, paste, or link.

Private Messages are called Conversations in this Software. Look to the upper right side for your Member Name, an envelope and a bell and the Search icon.

1590815320536.png

And this is what you get when you click on that envelope.
1590815623367.png

You can show all the conversations (PMs) you have or Start a new conversation. I do not have any to show you one that is currently there, but here's how to start a new one.

1590815721318.png

There is one thing that should not be used that bottom box, "lock conversation (no responses will be allowed). The means no one will be able to answer you. So, you will not be having a conversation, it will be a statement.

You cannot delete a conversation, you can Leave it and it will not show on your list of conversations.

You can star a conversation to make it easier to find. You can search for a particular conversation by using the filter.

The little bell to in the top right is where Alerts show:

1590817551730.png

This shows someone liked, or answered a thread, or conversation/new conversation

You are seeing ads on the top and side of the threads area. I know that having ads on the site was mentioned in a thread that I read. Yes, there are ads, but logged in members can turn them off.

Here is how to do it:
1. Click on your member name in the top right corner. That brings up your User Control Panel.

From here you need to click on Preferences. (at the top is where to set your timezone.)

1590816224494.png

Explore the other options in that page. Remember to Save when done.

Also, from the User Control Panel, check out the Alert Preferences. That will let you decide whether you get your alerts just on the forum, or if an email is sent also.

The account details is where your email is, and you can keep that updated. Check it out.

Please take time to explore the icons at the top of the message. The colors of text, the left/center/right justification is in the pull down when you click on

Check these out:

And go across and try them out.

Likes are now reactions. In this software there are reactions to choose from when you hold down the LIKE in the right corner of the message area of post. These are the options you will see:

Also, there is an awesome bunch of smiles available by clicking on the smiley icon on the icon bar. Check it out.

You can use a bookmark feature on any thread or post you want to keep.

This is what opens when you click on that bookmark icon.

1590818008205.png

1590818041941.png

That is what the bookmark feature will do, and where you can find it and control that list.

Thanks for the email. TBH, I'd forgotten I was a member here. Xenforo is great software. Many forums have moved over to it. One of the great features is the ability to drag and drop images into posts. I frequently take a photograph on my iPhone, Airdrop it to the desktop of my Mac and drag it into a post. Simple and quick. Looking forward to contributing in the near future.

Welcome aboard @Angie

Didn't notice that you are brand new to the forum, with all those badges. ;)
Hi KevinJS, Yes, I'm new. I have the badges as I'm the one that does a lot of the forum set up in the back, the general stuff. There is a developer that does the heavy software work. And I'll be checking in often to make sure problems don't last long. And I'll be getting to know the forum members, and customs.

Nothing like a fresh start.

EDIT:

1. Quote function does not work for me on Android cell phone.

2. How do I sign out or log out?

You will click on reply and it will bring down the post you are quoting. Then give you space to past below the quote.

If on Android click on your avatar in the top of the forum page. That will open the User Control Panel, and will show the same as the image above.

@Angie it looks like imported threads do not allow edits on my posts inside the threads.
I have discovered some internal links are broken and wanted to update them in my old posts.

E.g. in my system intro, I used a really old format link to another thread (http://www.martinloganowners.com/~tdacquis/forum/showthread.php?t=6931)
it should be pointing to:

But I can't edit. There are probably hundreds if not thousands of internal links in that old format.
Would it be possible for you to globally search and replace old format links and convert them into working links?
