Martin Logan wasn't there. These were the highlights (to me).

When I hit the lotto I am purchasing a pair or three of X-2s. *ducks*

I mean how can a man resist? They are huge, they produce gut wrenching sound, and they look like robots! Might as well call them man-traps.

Man-traps...

great big Cylons , yes they are attractive to the eye!

The Mac preamp is in two pieces?

What is that vice like thing used for?

Nice pictures considering the typical lighting conditions.

They kinda look like garbage cans to me, but hey to each his own.
How can you say that?

I just don't see it. :D

When I went to the last Stereophile show in S.F. and sat through the Wilson demo's, it reminded me of the Bose demo's they used to put on in Fry's Electronics stores. The sheep flocked in. Lot's hype put on by the presenter's and plenty of oo's and awe's from the crowd with me left in the background shaking my head in utter disbelielf. I guess you can commend both company's on some really great marketing!

Thanks for posting the pictures.Don't hate ! If I could afford them I would buy them. I'm lucky I have a close friend that sells them so when I want to listen to them I just go to his shop. Just remember that the unfortunate many that don't own Martin Logan say the same crap about us? Just my two cents. ;)

Remarkable similarity

I found the garbage can pics to look quite like the Watt - Puppy. Good analogy. Regarding the "BIG" Wilson, I think this is the child that only a mother can love. Where's the Terminator when you need him?

GG

That is the jack that is used to lift the X-2/MAXX2 up if you want to change the tires...er, spikes or put the casters back on to move them.

BTW the trash cans were hilarious!!! Someone should really put a tweeter and woofer in them. That would be so funny.

Heres a great Wilson audio story. I was at the show on thursday, and I decided to partake in Sony's little demo of the BDP-S1 on the SXRD 1080p projector. They had a full 7.1 wilson audio system with 7 Watt puppy 7's and a Watchdog sub. All that powered by a sony str-1000ex. Oh, Sony, why bother? It was really funny. When the presenter thanked Wilson for the speakers and then told us what reciever he was using my buddy and I just gave each other a look like "WTF? Try not to laugh" But that Bluray player looks just awesome on their projector.
And my favorite thing was that MBL system. Those a so neat looking.

We sold a pair of Sophias today for $7k. To some asian kid. All I know is he walked in, said he wanted "those" and pulled out his credit card and off they went. I almost feel sorry for the speakers, but hey, now we can get the version 2 in. :)

They were floor models that were traded in for W/Ps so we still made $$ on them twice. :)

Heard the version 2's yesterday...and I'm in love (lust) :p No suprise they bested my modest Ascent i's (you lucky Summit owners may have a different opinion!)

They sounded awsome! One of the best systems I've heard. :D Driven by Classe and in (from what I could tell) a well set up room. W-i-d-e sound stage, articulate base, tactile imaging. Just felt so real.

FWIW, I know they're apples-and-oranges, but they left me thinking about a set of Avantguard Trios I listened to a while back...hard to tell which rig was best, but both really impressed me.

If I had $14,000, no wife and no kid...I'd buy 'em!

The Sophia's have been one of my favorite Wilson's. I liked the Watt/Puppiers back around version 5. As I have stated before, if not Logan's I would probably own either the Watt/Puppies or the Sophia's.

There is a store close by to me which has the Sophia's, Watch, and WatchDog and it is a great sounding setup - the best in the store for a non-planar system.

Dan

They are fabulous! As are MLs. I will end up with both eventually I am afraid. :)

They just changed the Watch Dog sub. It no longer has an amp built in. They include an outboard processor and you supply your own amp.
