Hello from Florida.
I purchased these yesterday. They had not been in use for two years. Hooked them up to my Scott tube amp and fired them up. I need not tell you how wonderful they made every piece of vinyl sound.
Shut the amp. Went out for dinner.
Powered up the amp (the speakers are plugged in across the room to an always-on outlet).
This time, the volume is much lower and sound is strained and muddy. Thought it was the amp so plugged in my tube Fisher. Still bad. Changed cartridge. Changed preamp......You get the idea.
At some point, I unplugged speakers from the mains. Speakers fixed!
Today is anew day.
As I write this post to you, the stereo is playing just fine.
So please tell me what is going on here.
I can get my money refunded, but if a simple fix, I will get out my solder pencil and make these reliable.
