Just ran across the announcement regarding the latest headset from Audeze, the CRBN (Carbon) that features an innovative carbon-nanotube-based film for the diaphragm.
The origin story is really interesting as well, so watch the video to get the full scoop.

I'm very curious as to how well the new diaphragm material scales up, could it be used for large panel ESL drivers?
Can't think of a reason why not, other than manufacturing cost per square inch.

On the other hand, at the scale of large ESL speakers, any diaphragm coating uniformity issues are likely a non-issue.

At $4,500 (and you must still supply an energizer/amp >$800), this is for the true head-fi fanatic.
I will eventually get this or a Stax to use with my Realiser A16 Atmos headphone processor to more accurately render the PRIR of my all-ESL HT room.

Anyone else piqued by this model?
