I'd like to add Dionne Farris' Blackbird cover of the old Beatles song. Although it isn't a live recording, it has great atmosphere; a terrifically done recording! I'll have to look her up online. I think she did just that one album, Wild Seed, Wild Flower or something like that. I looked for it last night, but it's gone. I think my ex swiped it....

Live - Recording for ML's...

Kaliar said:
Many jazz recordings fit the bill ! A few that come quickly to mind:

- Bill Evans Trio "Sunday at the Village Vanguard"
- Bill Evans Trio "Waltz for Debby"
- Ray Brown with John Clayton and Christian McBride "SuperBass 2"
- Ray Brown Trio "Summer Wind"

And in another genre:
- Nirvana "Unplugged in New York"

Cheers !
Kaliar,

I agree, excellent musical Live recommendations as usual... ;)

I would add;

Eva Cassidy "Live At Blues Alley"
Ray Brown "Live At Starbucks"
Rod Stewart - Unplugged
Woodstock Live
Monterey Pop Concert

Here's a couple of oddballs...

Now don't think me nuts until you've had a listen, but (here goes) -

Maria Carey - Unplugged (CD)
This is the only thing I have by her I swear, listening to this though makes you realize that she has a great gift of a voice that is usually wasted on horrible, mindless, tasteless music.

Harry Belafonte - Live at Carnegie Hall (Classic LP 45 Box set)
Some would argue the most realistic live recording ever made. Stunning imaging, soundstage and incredible performances.
