Since Martin Logan doesn't have entry or mid-priced full range electrostatics...
Magnepan now sells a demo/entry level full range ribbon/quasi ribbon speaker pair for $650. These are specifically created to interest buyer in the purchase of the larger speakers (gasp, what an amazing idea). They're to demonstrate the sound quality/reproduction of the larger and more expensive models. They also make a ribbon Bass Panel Speaker! I've ordered a pair of the Magnepan LRS ($650 plus shipping), they have a 8-10 week lead time. Weight 40 lbs/pr.; 14.5" x 48" x 1.25"; 50Hz-22Hz; 86dB, 2.85 volts, 500Hz@1 meter If they compare favorably to my 1989 CLSii, I may upgrade to the Magnepan .7 or 1.7i.. perhaps even the 3.7i.
Of key interest to some, they point out the speakers are light weight and can be pushed back near the wall when not in use!
