Is SACD Dead ?? RIP !!

Regarding SACD, the RCA and Mercury reissues are the sole reason I got into this format. I am forever thankful for these reissues and the cheap universal players that are out there. .

Absolutely - I am not even bothering with the SACD layer. There has been some significant effort put into these reissues. I can't recall if I have said it in this forum but I am target niche for SACD i.e. a classical listener. I can't get excited about the hardware side as I think cd playback has come along in leaps and bounds in the last few years negating SACD (in my limited experience) as a playback medium worth investing in. The price of these reissues means I am happy to buy them for cd use only.
