HVD has been in the works for a number of years now. Not sure if it will ever see the light of day. Most are calling HD-DVD and Blu-Ray the last disk based media format.

Cool! Maybe after the format creators and content providers learn their lessons from Format War 3 (HD-DVD/Blu-Ray), the consumer will get something that is robust and flexible enough to fit his/her needs.

Isn't it funny how the format creators and Big Content did not learn their lesson from Format War 2 (DVD-A/SACD)?

We have same formats and the content being hobbled by Big Content.

Hopefully the creators of HVD will heed these signs.
