Hi all,

I've gotten a few PMs from concerned members regarding the number of bikini boys & girls they're seeing on the site.:wow:

Please refrain from posting these pictures from now on.

Thanks!

Tom.

My apologies:Audioraptured

My apologies to Robin and members who may have been offended by the pictures added to the one thread. In no way were the pics meant to be mean spirited or offensive, just good natured fun, and will not be repeated.

Robin, I don't think that you offended. Sometimes a smile was born, because you had to express a concept, and a picture is really 1000 words worth. But on the other hand, bandwidth is an issue, and even more, poor Tom has to weight all the kbytes going into this site because it's a matter of cost. A lot of Highend porn has been posted, and we all enjoy it, but sometimes (im an IT man, after all) I do worry about the size, and on my side I filter every pic I post through Photoshop's "save for web" menu, trying to minimize quality loss and size and maximize impact :) Sometimes an external link is also nice and useful, and in this circumstance I'd like to share one: http://www.tnt-audio.com/edcorner/sexandhifi_e.html

Thanks you guys...

Bandwidth and disk space IS becoming an issue which in all honesty I don't mind paying for so long as it's related to ML stuff..

I got a PM from a senior member who said he didn't like that he had to worry about what was going to appear on his screen while he was on the site at his place of business or at home with his Wife and kids looking on. Another member PM'ed me and said it was "getting out of hand" and asked that I do something.

I deleted the entire "Sale at Tweeters" thread and then started looking for other bikini pictures to remove, which I will continue to do.

So in conclusion, this wasn't a huge deal... let's just refrain from the bikini pictures going forward.

Tom.

Unfortunately, this is the concession we make for enjoying such a large and diverse community. Things that seem slightly risque yet enjoyable to some are slightly offensive and inappropriate to others. While I enjoyed the pictures and the humor contained in the posts, I also understand the concern of some members that it was getting out of hand.

Tom, I thought you handled this in a very professional and respectful manner. I absolutely love this forum. You guys (and gals) are great. And from now on Robin, you can just email us directly those photos of you and your sister and your friends.

Although I don't think I participated in this Thread,(except for enjoying it),I have in the past posted some risque pics. If I offended anyone I am Truly Sorry.

I fully understand the issue, but at the same time, I must in truth say I shall be missing something here

One option is for member to open a Photobucket.com account. It's a free image and video hosting serivce, just upload your images in what ever size and link them to your post. I did my new batch of system photo's this way, works well and easy to use.

Thats what I do.... I dont like taxing Tom's servers. Open a free photobucket account and keep all your pics there. The cool thing is that you can use it for other forums as well.

The nice thing about Photobucket is it will automatically size your images. You set it to 800 X 600 and all your uploaded images are converted to 800X 600. Tom is restricting the size of images we can upload to MLO.com for obvious reasons, with photobucket you don’t have those limitations, also you can link up to four images to a post. So for multiple image posts no more file names to click on, all your images will be displayed.

Photobucket is great, and FREE. Just one caveat... if you subsequently delete or update the Photobucket pix, the website links will (obviously) be broken. I suggest keeping a list of which websites/threads you've linked CRITICAL photos to, so you can go back and "fix" the link if you update the pix. There's nothing more frustrating than scrolling down a website to see a photo, and finding just a non-functional link!
