Has anyone mounted EFX on stands due to room placement issues?
I’ve seen Scripts (original version) on stands a few times, but not Script i or EFX. I’ve been longing for some electrostat surrounds for the last 11 years since I had 4 Script i’s as surrounds in a past system….so, I purchased a set of EFX for side surrounds but don‘t have the ability to mount them on walls as they are intended. I needed the smaller footprint of the EFX which is why I didn’t get floorstanders.

If you have mounted EFX or Script i on stands, which stands did you use?

Thanks in advance!

Dan

Below is copied from my Facebook MLO post as a follow-up to the above post. Maybe what I came up with can help someone in the future with the same dilemma.
“I posted a couple of weeks ago asking if anyone had placed EFX on stands instead of on the wall as they were designed. I received very little response, as I figured, because I had never seen anyone attempt this with the EFX. So, after a ton of research into speaker stands and any other stands that may be converted, I decided to make my own stands.
I started with feet to get the bottom off the base to let the ports breath a bit. Then I used two 10”x12” solid wood cutting boards to keep the footprint as small as possible. For additional stability I added speaker outriggers to the bottom of the wood with adjustable 2” spikes. Lastly, to attach the speaker to the stand I used 2” wide aluminum flat bar that I bent 90deg to secure the speaker to the stand.
I thought it turned out fairly well and serves the purpose I was looking to achieve.”

I can’t remember if Stylos came with stands or were available to purchase as an accessory. But I know they had stands as an option.
I believe they were available, however the ones I picked up had some custom stands made.
