I'm currently trawling through the extensive Dream Theater catalogue. For anyone who doesn't know, they are a well established band in the "progressive metal" genre.

Over the years, the band has seen some lineup changes, but has retained a fresh approach to music and has produced some great work. Join me as I explore the many great albums. For starters, here are the albums I played yesterday (thumbnail images, because I know some people frown on massive posts).

Images And Words
A Change Of Seasons
Dark Side of the Moon and A Saucerful Of Floyd (Pink Floyd covers)
Greatest Hit (...and 21 other pretty cool songs)
The Astonishing

The first item on today's agenda is a live album, spanning 3 CDs. There are also 2 DVDs or a BluRay in the box.

I prefer the early albums. Falling Into Infinity is my favorite. These seem to be a bit more 'relaxed' compared to the more cacophonous later ones.

I recently “discovered” Dream Theater again with the Distance Over Time album. Darn good prog rock! 👍🏼
