I bought a pair of used SL3s about a year ago and due to numerous events including an engagement and condo renovation I have not had a chance to hook them up. I'm getting a bigger space in a couple of months and I'm now looking at what I'm going to do to finish my 5.1 system.
I have an Onkyo TX-502 receiver that from what I've heard will probably have to be upgraded.
I have no center channel worth anything. I have a couple of bookshelf speakers that are okay I guess. Good enough for rear surrounds for the time being.
So, my question is ... Do I have to go with a ML ESL for my center? I want something smallish ... I have no interest in a 3rd SL3 as my center channel. Would any decent cone center channel be okay?
I'm sure ML does things to make sure their cone centers play well with their ESLs but I thought I'd ask around.
Budget is $600.
TIA.
