The young J.O. Ogunmakin, shorter called Ayo, was born on September 14th 1980 in Köln (Germany). She is the daughter of a gipsy woman and a student from Nigeria. This roots gave her a rich cultural background. She describes herself as "global", commuting between Paris an New York. In the age of 10, she started playing piano. Later, when she was 14 years old, she started also with gitar. All her life expiriences she ported very well into her voice and her songs.
The CD "Joyful", her first album, was recorded in a studio in NY and, what I know, it was a live recording. No question, it sounds fantastic with ML speakers. The songs are written by Ayo herself (except two tracks) and you can feel her soul, personality and emotions when listening to the music and reading the song text.
There is also an opendisc included that offers more background information when inserted in your PC.
