I'm running Odysseys with a Theatre cc and $ ran out for the Scripts.
I'm considering using my old Acoustat Model 1s for surrounds.
Anyone try anything similar?

Hola...Acoustat 1s are great electrostatic speakers...but you need a lot of power to drive them. Their sensitiviy is only 82 to 83 dBs. It would be a difficult task to match them to your Odyssey and Theater...unless you have a big power amp for rear. Get another ML for rears, like Aerius or Sequel II, the match would easer thousand times, regardless that the Acoustat are a very good sounding electrostatic speakers. They are tall and handsome, but difficult to match. Hope this can help...happy listening,
Pura vida,
Roberto.

acoustat

i have a friend of mine who is using Acoustat's for his rear surrounds and they sound great, he is using requests for the front and logos for the center, it is a really excellent sounding system he also added subs to the acoustat's.

The Model 1s came with a separate 10" sub.
Mine are modified, each speaker having it's own 10" sub.
The speakers are suprisingly easy to drive.
Years ago, I actually used the small 50 wpc NAD with very nice results.

I've got Maggie's as surrounds, they seem to do just fine. They take up less space than the MLs, which is why I got them.
