Apple Spatial Audio on ML Atmos HT

I don’t have height channels yet but I agree the spatial audio mixes do a much better job than other tech I’ve heard to turn music multichannel

Balanced Force vs. Dynamo - main effect more bass or less vibration?

Let me sneak in a second question. Assuming Dynamos, when would you consider front vs. downward firing? I've never had a sub that wasn't front firing. (/edit: except my two dynamos that have been down firing, but I never tried it the other way)

Balanced Force vs. Dynamo - main effect more bass or less vibration?

In comparing the ML subwoofers, let us for example say the Dynamo 1100x (sealed 12" one woofer) vs. BF210 (sealed 10" 2x woofer). Am I right in thinking the 1100x might actually put out more 'bass' but less controlled, lots of cabinet vibrations (might 'walk' around room), and less refinement...

    Tilt for m/l speakers

In the Zeos review on Youtube of the ESL X, he used a hockey puck ish sized thing to eliminate the rake and claimed it improved the sound.

ESL C center low freq cutoff

Specs only rate it to 60hz. I would think “small” and an 80hz (or maybe 60hz) crossover would be best personally.

ML Atmos match for ESL 9 / ESL C

Hello all, My current setup is ESL-9 / ESL-C fronts, with Fresco side/rears (not ideal). I want to add 4 ceiling speakers for Atmos. Out of the ML line does anyone know which ones are most appropriate for timbre match / frequency range for Atmos? I presume something using folded motion would...

    Thoughts On Preface and Mosaic

I own and use Mosaics as my current main speakers. What I like about them (compared to the motion series) is they don't have the same level of "shrillness" I hear in the motion line. But MORE importantly, like the bigger electrostats they are bipolar, which give them a good sense of openess from...

    Impression 11A - Piano Black

This is such an incredible deal of exactly what I want! I wish I could nab them, but I'm sure you'll sell them quickly.

Reviews - what can be trusted?

I think that really is the gist Chops. The new speakers are more accurate than the old speakers. But more accurate is more boring, I preferred the older renditions. Is there a way to cheat with EQ or other upstream tweaks something that closer approximates the old sound? What made the old...

Reviews - what can be trusted?

So if everyone agrees the sound of the panel has changed from the Aerius days through to the probably Micro-perf era. For those of us weirdos that like the old sound (even if the new is "Better") what kind of modifications or roll-off or whatever should we be looking to tweak the new models to...

Factors that prevent center channel matching perfection

As I plan my move back into Electrostats, I want to explore reasons I've never had good center channel matching. I had a pair of Vantages and a Fresco center. These didn't match well obviously. That same Fresco channel, with Fresco i L/R did match better, but it still didn't have as seamless a...

Reviews - what can be trusted?

So, I've been in Martin Logan land since the Aerius model. My current system is a pair of mere ML Mosaic (a precursor to the Motion series) and Fresco i surrounds. They don't even come close to touching Aerius and Vantage speakers I have owned in the past, nor the bigger reQuest, Summit, several...

bypass crossovers, run panel full range - what frequency response do you get?

I've always thought Martin Logan was very arbitrary in their panel crossovers; the more you pay, the lower they'll let the panel play. I've always wondered if it's necessary and how well or poorly the panels actually perform on their own. Has anyone taken something like, say a Vista, and...

    ML Vista Crossover Bypass

What kind of frequency response do you get if you just run the panel full range with nothing to the woofer? I've always been curious just how well they do or don't do and how low they can go before it's unacceptable. It has always felt like martin logan arbitrarily raises the crossover the...

    New Neolith stuff

Is it REALLY $79,999 ? If it is that is weak. After a certain point, the "it doesn't cost $80,000! I saved a dollar" is kind of ridiculous. That communicates to me that Martin Logan doesn't think it's worth $80k. Price it at $80,001. I could respect that and reviewers would gleefully...

New ML model coming!!! UPDATE! "NEOLITH" INFO INSIDE!

If you actually wanted to use a DBX DriveRack-4800 or similar device for room correction, is there an automated way to do this or do you have to measure (with something like REW) tweak, measure, see if it's better, tweak, etc until it's as flat as possible?

Center matching for the Mosaics...Fresco close but...stupid idea?

I've been running it bipolar for a few days now, and I notice no negatives. The center speaker now more closely matches the left/right to the point it is much more difficult to tell. It is a definite improvement. I'll try dipolar now for a few days.

Center matching for the Mosaics...Fresco close but...stupid idea?

Thanks Roberto, I will try this. What I'm wondering though since it is a speaker behind another speaker (instead of a true bi or di-polar) the distance the back tweeter is from the front tweeter messes with phase too doesn't it? One should sound 'better' depending on how far from the wall it...
