Just repositioned my Sequel II’s after letting them sit in the last place for a few months while i got a good idea of what they sounded like. Ok, Norah Jones is hovering inbetween them, guitars and bass sound nicely spread out, drums are centered :0) Cant believe they are 30yrs.old. My buddy...

Yeah they recommended the scanspeak 10” metal driver, i just think my panels have had enough, im not totally sold on scraping them at this point. It would be nice to hear a new panel, but yeah what are the odds on that

Yup, i have two 30yr old 10” woofs currently in use in my Sequels, Listening position bass is pretty incredible musically, i’ve never pushed the panels beyond 75ish Db at the LP the caps are both electrolytics and poly’s, bass and panel respectively

Because these are new to me and of course they are 30yrs old i have no idea what they use to be like. Wts i do love a project and rebuilding these would be fun.

I also have a concer about the XO parts. Coils are coils, but there are both poly and electrolytic caps that may need replacing, and possibly other older resistors too….. any thoughts ????

Yup, for me the upgrade would be around $1,800 for panels and (2) woofs…… im gonna sit on that awhile. Im sure that cost couldnt get me anything close if i bought a new pair, even at cost we are a dealer. We are dealers of MonitorAudio…….

one of the woofers was cooked so i found one online, but of course after i had purchased it, i contacted ML and they recommend a 10” scanspeak driver that was only $130 each. I’ll give a listen to the used one when it arrives next week, if it sounds balanced and good with no rattles, i’ll go...

Does anyone here own Sequel’s they are MkII’s, i was emailing ML and they said that nothing in the XO needs to be updated.... why all the talk about caps needing replacements, i see both poly caps and electrolitics

Hello, i just aquired a pair of Sequels, ML checked the serial # and the were made in 1991, would they be Sequel 1’s or 2 at that age ? One had a totally cooked woofer, found a used one on Reverb, who knows, maybe they will end up being a nice investment.
