Hifi Zenit - anyone had them rebuild panels before?

This company in Germany Hifi-Zenit - Martin Logan offers to rebuild ML panels for pretty good prices. Anyone used them before? They quoted $1290 euros to rebuild a pair of Summit panels.

    ML panel obscene pricing

My Aeon i and Stage X could use new panels so I checked the prices with a dealer. Aeon i - $995/pair Stage X - $895/piece The price for the Stage X panel is simply obscene! A tiny panel less than HALF the size of ONE Aeon i panel and they want $900 for it! Just needed to vent.

    Prodigy transformer specs

Does anyone know the specs for the 2 transformers in the Prodigy chassis? I have a panel imbalance between the speakers and I'd like to test them. Any info is appreciated.

Is there a guide for converting Prodigy to use external active crossover and bass amplifier?

    Summit standby power draw

According to the manual, a pair of Summits consume "less than 5 watts" when in standby. I measured power consumption using a digital power consumption meter and it measured about 10 watts each or 20 watts a pair in standby. That's quite a lot for standby.

I managed to acquire a Stage X center speaker for the equivalent of US$262. What a steal!

    Prodigy front woofers repair

There are a few threads on this site about Prodigy front woofers failing, and most owners replaced the woofers. Here are the original front woofers: These are no longer available and ML recommends these as replacements, which have the same dimensions although slightly different specs...

    Descent developed a knocking sound

My Descent subwoofer has developed a knocking sound at certain frequencies, mostly around 20-30 Hz. Here's a video: Adjusting the 25 Hz level doesn't help much. Anyone know how to fix or is it time for a new sub?

Newish Prodigy panel suddenly lost almost all volume overnight

I have a pair of Prodigies with new panels from ML, replaced in August 2018. Suddenly one of the panels became very very soft literally overnight. I swapped the panels left and right and the problem followed the panel. I have cleaned the connector, and also checked that the solder point where...

    Prodigy won't turn off automatically

One of my Prodigy speakers always has the blue light lit, even if there is no audio signal (amplifier off). The other one works fine (turns on when there is a signal, then turns off after a period of time with no signal). Anyone know what could cause that?

Added new baby MLs to the family

Found a pair of Motion 4 for a good price today so upgraded my computer speakers. Initial impression is somewhat underwhelming. After reading reviews I was expecting a bit more. It doesn't have the detail and dynamics of ML panels IMO. They are powered by an Audio Refinement Complete...

Only power the panels when in use?

Apparently the new ESL line only power the panels when it detects a signal. This is to reduce dust build-up by not having the panels charged all the time. Would it be advisable to do that with older MLs? Specifically my Prodigies. I can easily hook things up so that the panels are only powered...

Soft high-pitch buzz from my Prodigies

My Prodigies when on emit a faint high-pitched buzz, almost inaudible from my listening position (I can sometimes hear it if I try, with no audio playing) but audible if I put my ear close to the panels. It happens on both speakers and is not affected by source audio volume. The panels are...

Help me improve the acoustics of my Prodigies

I live in an apartment and my home theater is in my living room (Prodigies in front, Summits in the rear, with Descent subwoofer). My placement is far from ideal due to size constraints and the fact I have a wife. My Prodigies are almost against the wall, with the back around 4 inches from the...

Connect LFE and stereo inputs to Descent at the same time?

I'd like to connect the LFE input to my home theater setup, and stereo line-in to my 2-channel setup. Is that possible? Will the descent work correctly allowing me to use the subwoofer with both systems?

    How to remove Summit panels?

Does anyone have instructions on how to remove the panels from Summits? I'm going to have them reconditioned by http://www.eslrepair.com/ I will report back on how it goes. My Summit panels are degraded from years of dust and lack of use (very muddied/muffled audio).

Prodigy still making popping sounds, help

My Prodigy is making popping sounds: It was working fine but the panels were dull, so I had the panels replaced. That took about 3-4 months and during that time the speaker was not used. After replacing with new panels (by the local dealer) the pops started happening on one of the speakers...
