The Klipsch Museum is going to have a sale.

While not for sale yet. I did get a list of items they plan on selling. There are some pretty cool things and even a couple holy grail Western Electric items. Neat to see some of the very vintage pieces of gear that Paul Klipsch collected over the years...

FedEx Freight just dropped off some boxes

Looks like my new amps have arrived. I'll post pics and info this evening, after getting them unboxed and set up.

    6H30 SET Class A Linestage

Here is a little something I put together for a low power system. The linestage is built around a 6H30 and the power amp is 2A3. While this won't push electrostats, it has its own magic with high efficiency full range speakers.

    Roksan Radius 5 clone

Rather than hijack Steve's thread I'll post more on the table build here. I just replicated a Roksan Radius 5 in 1" bubinga. Here is an original Roksan and the replicated pieces.

Its a sad day in Mudville

With a bit of sadness, I'm boxing up my Prodigys. The new owner stopped by yesterday for a listening session, and of course, he and his wife loved them. At least, they are going to a good home.

Any interest for a San Antonio meet Dec 3 or 10?

I'm thinking about holding a little GTG at my place in December. I wanted to see if anyone here would be interested in coming and if so, what day works better?

Sometimes life just throws up on you

Came home yesterday to find our big fish tank filter had leaked about 20 gallons of water that ran across the marble entry and into our sunken living room. The downside is the living room has mahogany floors. I've got forced air heaters in there now trying to dry things up as best I can. :(

New year means time for a change

System 1) I moved the Prodigy's into the dining room to create a new dedicated 2-channel digital rig. I'm using my computer and a Shanling T-100 for sources fed into a Conrad Johnson 16LS that feeds a pair of Carver Silver 7t's pushing the Prodigy's. It really sounds nice. System 2) My living...

    Thinking about a new preamp

I have come across several and was wondering if any of you had used one of these or have an opinion. The first three are around $3000 and the Janus is $4000. Conrad Johnson 16LS Modwright LS36.5 (new version - push button switches) Modwright 36.5 (old version -toggle switches) Aesthetix Janus

What album or song is your guilty pleasure?

We love music in its many forms. We know many classic albums over the years. So what about an album you love, just for you. It doesn't have to be some great piece that is universally admired. Maybe some disco, funk, techno or environmental sounds (water, rain, trains, etc..). Maybe some long...

    Surround recommendations w/Prodigy

With the Prodigy's doing main duty, I'm working on the rest of the 7.2 system. Alas, the CLS are just to large for surrounds, so I'm in the market for something smaller. I was thinking Stylos. I need a small foot print or wall hanging.

    Prodigy's rock my world

I spent some extended time with my Prodigy home theater watching the full length epic "Red Cliff". Hour after hour they were blissful. From the room shaking explosions to the delicate musical renderings from the Guqin (qin), I was enveloped in the whole experience. These speakers never cease to...

    Wardsweb shotgun speaker cables

I started with some Belkin hybrid speaker cable. You will notice there are multiple types of conductors: 1-flat, 1- large, 4-medium and 12-small (individually insulated).

    Danley DTS-10 sub kit

I decided it was time to upgrade the sub in my home theater. The M&K has been nice but I missed the big 18" Bassmaxx B1 horns. Seems technology has come to the rescue. A tapped horn with two 12's is one third the size of the B1's. I will drive each of the 12's with its own amp. I'm also going to...
