    Sound Diffusor

The many articles I've read combined with personal experimentation tells me a flat monolithic wall behind the speakers works best, and maybe add modest absorption and or diffusion in the middle. However, a wall of green would look awesome, might want to spray some fire retardant on it like used...

    ABC...audio, bourbon, cigar

Good cigars, having one right now at the local cigar lounge. Audio, sadly lately mostly in the car. Bourbon, I use it for aches and pains, better than anything in my medicine cabinet.

    Synergy of ML and Nordost

I agree when talking about the speaker wire, Nordost and Martin Logans compliment each other. The Nordost interconnects are good, not great in my opinion. Cardas and Kimber Kable IC's provide a fuller fleshed out sound over the leaner flatter sounding Nordost IC's in my opinion. I mean they...

    3D printed speaker enclosures

Thanks for the video, very interesting. Some folks are married to the box. Freedom from the box, with panels, open baffle and so forth are more to my liking. I guess boxes come in handy for the bass, gotta admit to that.

    ARC to be liquidated ??

I agree, it was sometimes confusing reading about Audio Research and Acoustic Research in the same magazine issue back in the day.

    Hi and thanks MLO

Stratwing, thank you for the additional photos. Question: on the side walls composed of alternating vertical wood boards and a slightly recess black area - what is the black area? Drywall/Gypsum Board painted black, or perhaps exposed Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV)? Lots of things to like about...

Very nice system, can we see more of the room perhaps?

Room Acoustics - Absorption Panels Behind ML's

In my current room I started similar to where you are, and ended up completely blocking the window up with old acoustic ceiling tiles and foam rubber flooring (covered in felt). Then I took my tall equipment rack out, firstly by using an older low rack center stage, then again moving the...

    New Member System

Fresh room, fresh challenges - good luck. I too have a collection of old equipment that I cycle into my system during repairs. It is kind of fun, each piece has it's own personality.

Room Acoustics - Absorption Panels Behind ML's

I'd like to add to my two older posts in this thread, and the things I've learned since then. In retrospect the reason I found improvements when I placed a heavy wool blanket over my old CRT tube screen TV, and then again when I relocated the system in front of my fireplace with a diffuser...

    Conrad Johnson Amp with ESL9s

Looks like he decided to get the amp repaired and get a temporary cheap amp, plus maybe upgrade in the future. https://www.martinloganowners.com/threads/i-need-a-cheap-temporary-power-amp-any-recommendations.19059/#post-199897

Best US Site to Sell Used Audio Equipment?

I'm seeing fast turnover times at ASR, see link below. Audio Science Review https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?forums/audio-equipment-for-sale-or-to-buy.29/ If you are into unobtainium $$$ type equipment, take a look at the What's Best Forum. What's Best Forum...

    Sanders ESL Amplifiers

I never head of Coda before your post, and looked it up. Sounds very interesting. I also looked into Innersound and Sanders amps, nothing on the resale market, people must be keeping them.

    More Feet/Spike Advice

I think the danger in hearing a difference in isolation feet is after a while all your mind seems to grab on to is that difference. Post #29 (not mine). https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/symposium-acoustics.30333/page-2#post-638934

    acoustic panels summits

I have an almost similar situation. I ended up filling my window area with acoustic ceiling panels and foam rubber flooring cut to size and covered it all with 3/4" plywood. Just scrap stuff lying around until I got my pickup truck brakes fixed so I could make trips to Home Depot...

    Lush ^ V2 USB cable.

Regarding HDMI, about seven years ago I had an issue with a long run of HDMI from laptop computer to my first flat TV (Plasma). I tried a different and shorter route with same low cost brand and it worked fine. Then last year I read that cheap long run HDMI was notorious for having problems...

It’s time to get this right!

Theory & Practice is kind of like Concept Vs Results in that they may not always match up. In theory a pure line source isn't going radiate up or down, but treat the floor and ceiling of a M/L hybrid and trust your ears. My ears hear a difference, and you might even be able to measure a...

It’s time to get this right!

Your front speakers look a bit close to the side walls, making full range (bass traps) absorbers of first reflection points tricky. Maybe you can slip something like curved diffusers from Acoustic Geometry in there? My advice is opposite of Jonfo's, do the front wall behind the speakers last...
