    Issue With My Clarities

Hi Roni, Thanks a lot for this valuable information. Indeed it can be a good solution to replace the panels should they need to be changed before another importer is appointed! I'm quite surprised by the low cost for the statos - given the fact Aerius are not cheap themselves! As for my issue...

    Issue With My Clarities

Thanks Twich, Tom and Roni for your explanation and clarification! I have unplugged the Clarities last week before I left for Paris, so ample time for the disconnection. I shall give a try with the vacuum tomorrow morning, and check how it has worked during the afternoon. Another point for...

    Issue With My Clarities

Thanks Dave, will get a try when back home next week-end! I will keep you posted on the result! If not mistaken, another 24 hours after the vacuuming is done needed before reconnecting the MLs, is it right?

    Issue With My Clarities

Thanks Dave, much appreciated! I have had a look at the method. I'm pretty sure this is brilliant, as well I'm pretty sure given my poor skills when it comes to DIY, it would end up as a full disaster... Is there any other method that would be easier to implement? I remember of a method...

    Issue With My Clarities

Hi all, it has been a very long time since I haven't come to this wonderful place. The reason was simply I was really happy with my setup and enjoyed it tremendously! I was living in the hot sands of Abu Dhabi when I purchased my Clarities back in 2004. They have been driven by vintage Harman...

    "Blu-ray's Dirty Little Secret"

It's quite logical, as the companies distributing the American movies in Europe may not be the original studios... and they can have a HD policy different from their US counter part. The good news is that in almost of the cases, the HD DVD sold in Europe do have an Original Version...

Do you always keep your gear on ?

I switch on and off when needed be... It's hot enough out there without adding the setup's heat to the room's temperature! :D

New to ML, help with this 5.1 setup.

John, as Steve is mentionning, this is part of the ESL technology. I recently had the opportunity to listen to the Summits, and I was amazed how the Summit's vertical dispersion was... good, compared to my Claritys... ;) ML is making quite an achievement to reduce the issue, but unfortunately...

New to ML, help with this 5.1 setup.

Basically, the improvement is when I listen to SACDs. I've noticed that multichannel DSD signals are very demanding to your system - if your setup is not homogeneous, you'll lose a lot of the SACDs quality. It can be for the reverb, that will look less natural, or for some sections of the music...

New to ML, help with this 5.1 setup.

This is what I get, Claritys and Cinema i on the front, Grotto as a sub, and Frescoes for Surrounds, and the result is quite satisfactory - they work well together. I actually purchased my MLs in two steps, and before I got the Frescoes, I had infinity speakers on the back of the room. When...

To summit or not to summit, that is the question...

End of the story... The dealer offered me a trade-in proposal that was not as interesting as what he promised at first - considering that he was assuming the I had Clarities i, whereas mine were of the original model... The $ 5,500 deal was really interesting, although not so easy to finance...

To summit or not to summit, that is the question...

I've heard the Summits this afternoon. They were connected to a Linn setup, that was including a multichannel 100-watt Chakra Linn amps. My feelings were as follow CDs / Dire Strait's Brother in Arms - Hayley Westenra's Pure - Sarah Brightman's Harem The very first impression I had with the...

To summit or not to summit, that is the question...

Ben, the H/K Signature 1.0 is an analogue preamp - it contains no processor at all. This is the Denon 5910 which is decoding all audio formats.

To summit or not to summit, that is the question...

To be quite honnest I don't like Krell much - IMHO they are really precise, very neutral... and by being so analytical they just lack life... Actually the connection between the Denon and the Harman/Kardon Signature 1.0 is done through 5 German-made Viablue interconnects, and that's it. Either...

To summit or not to summit, that is the question...

Thanks for your advice! As far as my system is concerned, I prefer to have a balanced versatile one, and not to have too many products. It's why I have chosen the ML speaskers, that can do a great job in all configurations. Anyway, the dealer informed me the other customer didn't like them...

To summit or not to summit, that is the question...

I fully agree when it comes to DVDs Audio and Video, SACDs, but not when it comes to CDs... The fact is that I'm connected with CINCH output only as my pre amp is purely analogue, maybe it works better with a coax or optical signal?

To summit or not to summit, that is the question...

You're absolutely right ralflar, it's basically a question of opportunity - you seize it or or not, but you can't much elaborate a different scenario around it. The U.A.E. is a country of roughly 4 million souls, of which 80% are foreigners like I am. Audio is not a great market there, at least...

To summit or not to summit, that is the question...

The offer concerns the Summits only... So my choice is quite simple - keep my Clarities or switch to the Summits. ;) Still I am. The analog 7.1 preamp H/K Signature 1.0 is in the middle - below the Cinema i, surrounded on the left by the H/K Signature 1.3 and on the right by a H/K Signature...

    The Beatles ~ "Love" DVDAudio

Absolutely, the DVD Audio version is simply fantastic!... :rocker: Compared to the traditional blue and red albums (I did own them in LPs, tapes, CDs...), the songs sound much more natural...

To summit or not to summit, that is the question...

Sorry... :( My reference measurements are according to the metric system, and each time I have to handle feet and inches, I get confused... The latter is correct. Thanks for the advice... Anyway, I shall not remain in the U.A.E. for long now, which is also why I try to get as much as I can...
