More changes over the last year and retired

I have my old CLS panels if anyone wants them. They work but are tired and need a refresh? ;)

JonFo, The Sequel ii panels are $1425.00 for the pair. I just got that quote last week.

More changes over the last year and retired

I just replaced the panels on my CLSiiZ's and boy did I miss how good they sound. It was worth the investment. Unfortunately, my Sequel ii panels are starting to show their age as well. I should not complain they are from 2003. I use them for rears and yes I know it is a bit of over kill but...

    SL3 crossover

It is possible it is the crossover but not likely. You said you swapped the speakers, was that swapping the panels or moving the entire thing?

    High Pitched Whine

Most of the models have a sensing circuit which will turn off after a short time, I think 20 minutes but I am not sure about the time. When the circuit receives a signal from the preamp, receiver or what ever, it will turn on. I leave mine "on" all the time. I try to vacuum them every few...

New here but not to ML/Amp Upgrades Rec ?

Mia, Welcome! I would definitely look in the used market. There are a lot of good buys and it will help you get to where you want to be. I think I speak for a lot of use here that we have traded sideways and up a long the way to get there. I did have a Rotel back in the day but it got "thin"...

    ML Aerius 1 Pannel Weakness

Just a FYI, Martin Logan estimates the life of the panels to be between 10 and 15 years. My Sequel ii are now starting to show their age and they are from 2003! I just replaced my CLSiiZ panels which were from 2005.

ESL 3 Inherited for an outdoor shed

I would not use Simple Green. The panels are probably shot but washing them in luke warm water may give back a bit of life back but not permanent. That model is SL3's They will need some current to drive them and the Sony receiver is not going to make it and will either shut off or go in to...

More changes over the last year and retired

With any luck it will be this week. I emailed ML last week because I have no patience. He said as of last on Thursday there were about a week behind and I was 5th in line! I asked about the time it takes to actually make the panels and I was told that the spars come from Canada but everything...

New CLS Owner with lots of quetions.

Just to add here, the power board is still available for the CLS but not the interface board. I too, would avoid the head treatment. Cleaning the panels is not a bad thing but it just buys time. If you can see through the panels pretty well I would leave them be. Martin Logan still makes new...

More changes over the last year and retired

I agree on placement. I did swap the electronics but the problem remained with the speaker/panel. Initially, I setup my speakers with a tape measure then tweak like toe-in, flash light method and rake angle to achieve the optimal performance. I also have GIK panels behind and off to the side...

More changes over the last year and retired

I did swap the electronics from left to right and the problem stayed on the left which told me it was the panel. They are 19 years old so I guess I should not complain too much. I did set up my home theater preamp, Mcintosh, with a microphone and got it balanced pretty well. Of course now that...

    Remastered music vs older recordings

I have the Chicago II remix by Steven Wilson and it is very good!

I am running a Pass Labs 150.8 with CLSiiZ with no issues if that helps. It has been flawless for the last 3 years!

BTW, I think I have pics of the stands if you or anyone would like to copy them. I had the height set for me so that the middle of the panel was at ear height.

Brad, Thanks I am still tweaking which is dangerous. The CLX is just no in my reach anymore. I may consider having the electronics checked/upgraded in the future. I did replace an inductor and a couple of caps which gave them a bit more punch. I also added Dynamat around the panel on the...

More changes over the last year and retired

RJ, Thanks! The amp is a Pass Labs X150.8. It replaced a CJ Premier 350. The only reason I replaced the CJ was I had heard they can no longer source the transformer for that amp and with my luck, that would be the thing which would break although highly unlikely. I know Pass Labs stands by...
