Welcome to the group ! Dan and Vic have given you some good suggestions to which I concur. The pics you provided tells a story of a WAF but not one for good sound ! No matter how well you place your speakers, listening with your head that close to a wall behind you is NEVER a good idea. As for...
Hi Jeff, welcome to the world of retirement, I'm on year four. I still recall the memories of yours, mine and Dan's various discussions over the years, may he RIP. Continue to enjoy your CLS's in good health !!
I'm not gonna say you're an idiot but no way will that room ever be optimized for those speakers. You can treat it till the cows come home and it will still be a compromise !
Good luck !
I used to deal with Jim McShane back in the day but I think he has retired. I've also dealt with these folks over the years with no problems ...........

Fond memories from back in the day (18 years ago) when we had a nice gathering out in Lawrence and toured the Logan facility, all of us getting nice gifts including well made polo shirts. I still have and wear mine to this day !
Robert, for any planar, di-pole speaker, including ML stats, sufficient 'space' is paramount to optimal sound. For all my years of owning such speakers I NEVER heard a pair sound their best without at least 4-6' to 'breath' behind them.
Another of the 'Planar Pioneers' has passed, I was happy to have owned several pairs of his speakers.

Welcome to the fold Koen !
I'm 70 years old, live in the US, 'work' is a dirty four letter word(I'm retired) and I listen to music whenever I want ....... ;)
there is a rather interesting discussion going on over there at Audioholics on the vary review. Seems a forum member or two are getting riled up over the design specs. Worth a 'look and a laugh' !
next to widely varying humidity / temp an overly dusty environment is a no-no as well.
IMO, if these two conditions can't be kept under control time to move on to some other speaker .........
I had a good laugh at the cyber truck video drag racing the 911. Apples to Oranges IMO. Yes EV's are quick, we all know that, but a Porsche 911 wasn't built for the 1/4 mile. Id love to see how that ugly assed 'Muskmobile' does against the 911 around the Nurburgring !
