    How to: active bass section

Any single bass driver Martin Logan will follow the same steps as what I originally detailed. I believe the owners manual has the factory crosso specs listed so I'd use that as a good starting point and you can tweak it from there. If the woofers still play as they should then there's nothing...

    Aerius tweeks

I I don't believe anyone here has done that crossover modification. Everyone here is going to suggest the same thing that was mentioned on DIYaudio and will tell you to go active on the woofers. This way you can run tubes on the panels and have proper control over the woofers, it also...

Vantage Bass Boom in small room, options?

@malcesine would you mind sharing some photos of your current speaker setup? We might be able to help you out better with some pics

Vantage Bass Boom in small room, options?

Stick some socks in them and give it a shot lol. You lose absolutely nothing to try.

Vantage Bass Boom in small room, options?

    - speaker placement - subwoofer placement - high pass the front speakers - lastly you can try DSP on the subwoofer Those are all the easiest things to try.

    My apartment setup

Well I finally have the main room pretty much setup the way I want. I still need to get some room treatment done in here since all the bare walls and hardwood floors make for a pretty reflective room. Maybe an area rug under the couches and coffee table would be appropriate. These speakers...

    Jeff Rowland Model 2

@Big Dog RJ it should be very interesting depending on what topology those JR amps use, they've done a few different classes of operation over the years. I've always liked the big transformer class AB stuff, I'm not exactly sure what's inside some of those giant boxes that run class D.

    Klipsch "The Fives" honest thoughts

I have the Klipsch speakers for sale on Audio Mart right now. If they sell I'm going to my local PA shop to audition some studio monitors, last time I was there they had a big selection.

    Klipsch "The Fives" honest thoughts

Yeah I totally agree with you, so much of this newer technology feels completely disposable. I went with powered speakers to save desk space and have a clean sounding all in one solution. With modern Class D amplifiers, active crossovers and DSP they should be able to make these things sound...

    Custom ESL using quest panels

@Leporello I just went with these transformers because they seemed like the best shot I had with the information I had to work with. I'm not entirely sure of what I'm doing here, but it seems to be working.

    Custom ESL using quest panels

They haven't changed much since the last updated unfortunately, I've just been very busy with other things and projects around the house. Another big reason is that my active setup running my Aerius I's is just way too damn good. Even just plunked into the living room with no DSP or anything...

    Klipsch "The Fives" honest thoughts

Nah unfortunately everything was working as it should. Just terrible speaker voicing, they don't sound any different than your average $250 bookshelf speakers.

    Klipsch "The Fives" honest thoughts

Howdy everyone So for the last 6 months or so I've been pondering upgrading my PC sound setup. I've been running a pair of KEF Q15s that I bought almost 10 years ago and they sound fine, but not amazing, I've tried a few amps and currently have them running on a small Decware tube amp I built...

    Jeff Rowland Model 2

I haven't heard back since my last email. I've already emailed this guy twice and I'm not getting much back. I'll give it a week or 2 and see if it goes anywhere. I'm not really in desperate need of an amplifier like this, I just have a soft spot for these beautiful JR pieces. Currently I'm...

    Jeff Rowland Model 2

So I've been in contact with the seller and he's going to get me some more photos as well as the service history since he claims that it has been serviced but doesn't specify where or how much work was done. I also reached out to Jeff Rowland Design Group to see if the epoxy potted modules are...

    Another panel aging question...

20 years seems to be about the cutoff, I wouldn't worry too much about it if they sound fine.

    Jeff Rowland Model 2

I've reached out again after my first offer and requested some additional pictures (the ad only has a couple) and haven't heard back. It's a long weekend in Canada so I'll wait until next week before reaching out again. I'd also settle for a second Model 1 just to have it, it always sounds...

Yes it is a pair of shielded toroids, extremely well built piece of gear.

    Jeff Rowland Model 2

Howdy guys So I was browsing Canuck Audio Mart last night and I noticed one of the amplifiers I have always wanted has come up for sale. There's a Jeff Rowland Model 2 in all black recently listed for $2900 CAD. I'm seeing if I can beat him up on price a little bit more so I'm waiting for a...
