Low and Slow. Basically, the same as how Lawry's suggests cooking their meat that can be ordered and shipped. Here is a link to the prep instructions: Lawry's At Home I cook it at 200º on Convection Roast all the way till I take it out, so it takes about 4+ hours for 4-5 lbs with bone. This...

Bob Latino M-125 mono tube amps (www.tubes4hifi.com), 125 Watts each in UL mode or 65 Watts in Triode mode which is the mode I preferred, with Expressions rated optimistically at 4Ω and dip to 0.7Ω at high frequency. At 11kHz the frequency is -4dB vs the level at 7kHz. Even with this decrease...

What other interests or hobbies do you spend time on?

Cooking/Baking! I'm not shy in saying I'm a great cook! My fan favorite specialties are chicken breasts in a wine sauce with caramelized onions over noodles, Pot Roast that is cooked for 12 hours, and, Prime Rib/Mashed Potatoes/Gravy/Rolls that rivals Lawry's The Prime Rib - especially the...

    Is my receiver adequate

That's good advice from Russ. Used is a good way to get great amps at good prices, but one must also be aware of possible repair costs. Bryston has a long warranty, so one brand such as this would be high on my list today. When I bought my first pair of Martin Logan speakers about ten years...

    New ML 11a owner

Welcome! I read up about your amp after seeing your system post, and it seems like quite an amp! You must be happy, yes?

IsoAcoustics GAIA II Isolators, My Take

I don't know the thread size for Impressions. Might be the same, dunno. The GAIA II comes with 3 thread sizes/pitches, but none fit my Expressions which take 3/8"/16. The dealer should be able to find out the correct size/pitch. Regarding length, get the "Long Thread" version so you can change...

IsoAcoustics GAIA II Isolators, My Take

What about taking one of the spikes to a home store, go to the "fasteners" aisle, and look for the thread guide that's usually mounted somewhere in the machine thread fastener area. It's a board with all the different sized nuts and bolts mounted on it so you can insert your threaded item into...

    MORE Isolation Feet?

$300 per box of four GAIA II footers for the first pair of boxes I bought early this year. But then at AXPONA they had a show special of 20% off, so the next pair were $240 per box, and, included a very nice bag, so, . . . .

    MORE Isolation Feet?

No, but being that the house is 67 years old the floor is not exactly level, so getting the weight evenly distributed amongst the four feet takes a little patience. Hardwood flooring.

    MORE Isolation Feet?

Even after several good demonstrations by IsoAcoustics where I heard a difference that I liked, soundstage, clarity, I remained skeptical that I would witness the same in my home. Armed with a good return policy, I bought two sets of GAIA II for my Expressions. Yes, the sound changed to my...

what amp to use with Renaissance 15a

LOL Haven't tried it, not enough amps. I think Bob and his buddy had over 20 amplifiers for that test, and still couldn't get full dynamics without distortion. But, the sound is just so natural and inviting that hours and hours go by without notice.

what amp to use with Renaissance 15a

Tomorrow will be one week with the Krell Duo 300 XD, and it's about as good as I could ever hope for! Simply incredible! The combo of the Duo/13A is just so natural and easy sounding. I get the wall of sound that the tube amps have, but without the limitations on the frequency response, and so...

    212 sub is not fused

I wonder if it's because all of these non-fused subs and speakers have Auto Sense power up? Maybe there's something in that circuitry which "acts" like a fuse ? It'll be interesting to hear what you find out from ML. You would think a tv would be an easy target, but mine is fine also other...

    212 sub is not fused

Well, I never even thought about checking to see if our speakers and subs have fuses, which I thought they would have, but don't. All my amps have fuses, and the powered speakers and subs have amps, so, wouldn't they have fuses? I guess not. With that said, my amps got hit with a electric...

    Ear Pain from ESL's.

So sorry for your loss. It's a very difficult and painful decision to have to make. My sympathies. I second everything JonFo said above. What does the system sound like without Audyssy engaged? Maybe try setting the speakers up as Large, and no correction.

what amp to use with Renaissance 15a

This is a keeper, so I'd put this on the recommended list for these speakers. I haven't even had a lot of time with it due to workload this week, which is still getting in my way today, but it's giving everything I could ask for in its price range. Will need to test some speaker cable combos...

what amp to use with Renaissance 15a

You got my vote! When was the end of production for these amps? I ask because refreshing would probably be expected for amps with some age on them. The power supplies on these were reported as quite fantastic, especially when the optional even more robust PS was ordered.
