Thanks for the helpful reference, it is a nice resource for those of us in the USA. But the set in question is down in Central America, Costa Rica to be specific ;-) Getting panels shipped back and forth would be a pain (and a risk), not to mention expensive.

OLED TV image burn in, mine has it now

Bummer that it got burn-in. I believe the newer LG OLED models, from the 8-series onward perform automatic image-retention mitigation procedures whenever they are in standby after every x number of hours of operation. My C965 has zero burn-in after a couple of years. But then, other than F1...

Pura Vida! otro Tico ! Welcome Javo. I grew up in Costa Rica and also have Sequels I bought new in 1993. Mine have yet to be repaneled, but I've cared for them very well, and for the last 23 years, they live in a dark man-cave otherwise known as my home theater. They are my rears. So the...

    Streaming Issues; Need Assistance.

No direct experience with the UniFi Mini switch, but plenty with TP-Link 24 and 8 port switches. The media room Apple TV 4Ks is connected to a TL-SG108 switch, which itself is cascaded from the TL-SG1024 switch. The HT Apple TV goes direct to the 1024. Zero issues either way. No need for fancy...

    Repainting side trim panels

Nice, I recall seeing a Summit with a red frame and even red spars at the factory tour we did in 2007. Looked sharp. This reminds me, I still have not done anything to mine. Time to get off my duff and do that before people are coming to visit once it's safe to do so.

    panels: SL3 vs Summit

Not relevant, as I bought them just before the price increases, but IIRC around $900 at the time. Being overseas, it's whatever your dealer charges.

    panels: SL3 vs Summit

I understand the concern, but the DBX's are very transparent, and the improvements in mids and highs are totally worth it. being able to time-align the panel to woofer is also a huge benefit.

    panels: SL3 vs Summit

Looks like we cross-posted, so already answered one question. If I had the choice, and both the same age, I might still go for the older panel as it is a taller line source. If space were a constraint, then the Summit panel. But the difference is not huge.

    panels: SL3 vs Summit

Since I have replaced SL3 panels for my Center channel (based on an SL3), you are better off getting new panels. If you want to take your pair to a new level, then replace the passive crossovers with an active unit with time delay abilities, such as a DBX Venu360. That will do both the SL3 XO...

    panels: SL3 vs Summit

No, all Gen1 panels, including replacements, all use the original perf spacing. Even a brand new Neolith uses Gen1 perf-spacing, as it is the same size as a Monolith panel. Only new models from the original Summit model onwards (Gen2) use the smaller perf spacings.

Separate analog and digital systems into the same speakers?

It's not worth the complications, just plug it into the phono inputs on the 3801. Or for extra credit, use a dedicated phono pre-amp and use one of the regular aux ins. But the Denon had decent phono pre-amps. At least the one on my AVP A1 was super-clean. I'd suggest any money be put into some...

    Replace or Re-panel Script i

2006 is not that old (says the guy still running original panels on the Sequels from 1993), I replaced the panels on my Monoliths in 2006 and they perform and measure just as well as when first installed. So unless they have been exposed to the usual contaminants (dust, smoke, excessive...

    ReQuest-based Center

Replying to this thread made me remember I already whipped up some ideas around this concept, please read this post from my center channel build thread: SL3-eXtreme Center channel speaker – a design and build story

    ReQuest-based Center

Yeah! finally, someone else goes the DIY center route. It was getting lonely being the only one ;) This is a challenge, as the front wave is now likely to bounce off of the ceiling, as the curve is such that the upper couple of inches are aimed way above the MLP. One thing to try while you are...

    Renaissance ESL 15 (and friends)!

I DIY all my custom treatments, the rest are mostly all-black commercial units from RealTraps The two linked do, as I'm sure several others do as well. Here's an article on how they are made from yet another vendor: How it's Made: Acoustic Art Printed Sound Absorbing Panels | Acoustical...

Oh, you are actually in better shape than most if you already have a bunch of stuff on the walls. The trick is to turn them into acoustically functional as well as part of the decor. You can take a digital image and have that printed on the treatments, so you go wild with team logos or even...

ML Center Theater - Mod or upgrade

Don't let the price fool you, that is a decent woofer. Just keep the crossovers at 90Hz or above. So basically for $740 you can totally refresh a Theater i (minus the tweeter, which should last a long time), which seems like a decent value relative to the cost of refreshing the larger units...

    Old SL3 question

It's a fact, none of the original panels on Gen1 speakers had clear spars. Only replacement panels made in the past 14 to 16 years have clear spars. As noted, the serial number decoder will confirm the exact date of manufacture.

ML Center Theater - Mod or upgrade

Robert, I would put the Focus under the TV, much better result all around. Even if you need to build a shelf over the Focus to hold the TV. It looks like you have the vertical clearance in the entertainment center.
