Wow another year and a half fly by. I have added a second turntable (Maplenoll), added the Lounge phono pre, replaced the pre with a Sonic Euphoria, replaced the dac with a Auralic Aries Mini and built a new stand.
While not for sale yet. I did get a list of items they plan on selling. There are some pretty cool things and even a couple holy grail Western Electric items. Neat to see some of the very vintage pieces of gear that Paul Klipsch collected over the years...
SAE amps are not designed to handle the high impedance of an electrostatic speaker. As the frequency goes up, the ohms go down and the impedance increases.This makes for a difficult load and high current draw. The SAE amps were not built to go below 4 ohms and we're their happiest at 8 ohms.
Mike's meet is later this month. There are some guys in Dallas and Denton that want to come down. I will try and put something together for June or July.
That is a Tascam BR-20 1/2 track machine. It has all the magic of analog without the noise of vinyl. The tapes are from The Tape Project and are direct copies of the master tapes. It just doesn't get any better.
